A Unique Dry-Hopped Sweet Tart Sour Mash Ale

We soured the wort on the Hot Side with Lactobacillus for a few days and then brewed up this smooth and hoppy sour. It tastes like a big bowl of fruity candy or some chewable flavored vitamins, but what’s the difference? It’s sweet, tart, and sassy, just like the tasty cherry pie that your favorite aunt makes. For all the Aunt Sally’s out there, You know who you are...

You remember it like it was yesterday. The beer flowed like music. The music was all that mattered. What mattered most was that nothing else mattered at all and the world outside fell away as a dream disappears upon waking, ephemeral and vaporous. You cradled her in your hand, lips trembling, her citrus suchness a swarm of expectation in your mind, her carbonate beauty as satisfying as it was overwhelming. You were new to this dance but she was not. Taking her in completely she seized your senses and you were consumed by the luminous passion, her residual sweetness, and the tart earthiness of her grin... This brew is dedicated to the real Aunt Sally. You know who you are. And you know why.

Very pleasant aroma that is sour and hoppy, but not too much of either. Macrobrew color with a bone white head. Not too tart, slightly sweet taste. Very smooth palate with low carbonation. Overall very drinkable. Gets better with each sip. I wanted more sour but I would still drink this again.

Bottle at Rådhuskällaren. Golden colour, small white head. Fruity, piney, a bit tart aroma. Light-bodied. Pale malty, a bit tart, hoppy flavour. Mellow but not very interesting.

12floz bottle, no date, $1.50 unit cost, pint glass. This is one of those beers you cannot pigeon hole into a specific style. It's straw colored with a white head, and smells like herby hop pellets. It's also light bodied and drinkable, but is lackluster as it is also hollow feeling. Mildly bitter and sour flavor of lemon zest and flour. Meh.

Smells and tastes like vomit. Even has the texture of vomit. Looks like a standard pale sour. I enjoy a lot of soured beers. I love Rodenbach Grand Cru. This is vomit.

Cool label and dark gold pour with a light, frothy head. I haven't checked in with Lagunitas in a while, and this strikes me as the funkiest thing I've had from them. Still balanced tho. The sour, bready flavor is rustic but not overpowering. The lemony, sweet aroma makes me think of hops and Belgium. Good stuff.

Pale yellow. Sour funky hop. Surprisingly good lacing on snifter. Grapefruit, lemon, herb and a lingering mild spicey funk aftertaste. Decent.

Pours straw colored with a slight haze and a finger of white head. Aroma is crisp with sweet tart notes. Flavor is tart with lemons and slight barnyard funk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
