UPDATED: OCT 13, 2016 Espresso and roasted malt aromas, dark fruit/chocolate too. Taste is espresso, bitter roasted malt, and dark chocolate. After it has warmed, a fudgey dark chocolate and plum flavor becomes codominate with the espresso. PugUglyBrewer (663) - - SEP 18, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 22, 2016 I have had many coffee stouts over the last two years since I have gotten into craft. There are variations left and right. The Cappuccino Stout is a nice spin on the style by being a high gravity brew with a bit of the milk stout DNA appearant. The nose is lent more toward coffee and cinnamon while the taste is a melody of chocolate, espresso and a cinnamon kick. It looks great in the glass with a massive 3 finger head. A rich dark brown appearance. HourGlass13 (909) - North Carolina, USA - SEP 3, 2016
The pour is dark black, with just a bit of dark tan foam. You can smell the coffee, but its not overpowering. The initial taste is rich stout with notes of roasted hops and coffee while chocolate and roasted hazelnut comes thru as it sits on the tongue. The finish is slightly bitter with coffee lingering. Good stuff though. JohnGalt1 (1721) - Boise, Idaho, USA - AUG 23, 2016
Day-Old coffee and coffee bitterness mingling with some some low hoppiness ... maybe a little alcohol.
Taste is similar with caramel and significant roasted nuts ... finish is a cup of espresso with a touch of sweetness. Very smooth mouthfeel ... it is big, not a chore to finish, but you still need to stick around and appreciate it. MrBeerFanatic (1059) - Indianapolis, Indiana, USA - AUG 14, 2016
My 1000 th rating. Pours a dark brown/black with a thick head and great retention. Aromas coffee, brownie, cocoa, slight smoky wood. Flavors medium coffee, light wood, medium cocoa, slight brownie. Medium sweetness medium bitter finish. This is not to complex but decent. Have had way better coffee stouts and most are better with age.

Coffee and roasted barley aroma. A bit if a char character. Pretty sweet, but the bitterness means it’s not cloying. Has a decent bitterness. Body is also thinner than expected, but not thin at all. Tasty big, roasty, and a little sweet. Christos (5791) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - AUG 8, 2016
(Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout) Bottle 650 ml at home, served into a snifter, ABV 9.2%
Black coloured body, one full finger of thick, beige head, creamy, with very good retention.
Aroma has sweet coffee, chocolate, mocca, light plums.
Nice taste, more cold coffee now, sweet in general, with chocolate, mocca, plums, light caramel, fudge, some roasted malts on the finish, dates here and there, hints of alcohol.
Medium body with good carbonation.
Nothing mind-blowing but a very good one. sulawang (1161) - - JUL 2, 2016
Visual: Pours jet black without a significant head, ringed nano-micro ringed retention, steady micro streams accompanied by sporadic scatted bubbles.
Nose: roasted nutty sweet coffee, liquid barley malt in the background. (lvl-6)-pungency
Attack: super THICK, creamy-smooth/almost NO2
Mid-palate: roasted coffee, (lvl-6-sweetness) -> roasted barley malt, light burnt bitter chocolate, soy sauce, alcohol tang, vanilla
Finish: deep roasted coffee exhale w/ lingering bittersweet roasted malt.
Summary: This one kept me sipping and sipping... and sipping. Wonderfully smooth and approachable thick-creamy mouthfeel with a very agreeable integrated roasted coffee & barley deep body. Balanced, rich, delicious. It could use a touch of milkiness, but otherwise excellent. Cokemonkey11 (891) - - MAY 30, 2016
Large American bottle. Brown. Pours black with a medium tan foam head subsiding average slow. Scent is light malt and medium light Porter yeast. Taste is medium dense Porter with maybe hops and little else. Finish is dry and a little earthy and even a little capsaicin. Good. Bebum (993) - Massachusetts, USA - MAY 27, 2016
UPDATED: JAN 20, 2017 Opaque, covering lace. Very full body, silky texture, flavorful, big, rich extra hot and well balanced mouthfeel, long aftertaste. Bitter but well supported by mild background malt sweetness and balanced by crisp acidity. Strong but simple dark roast coffee flavor, malty, alcohol, raisins, tar, coke, finishing on a pomegranate syrup note. Delicious and satisfying. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
