Beautiful red color. medium head , lasting, good lacing.
very unique aroma, sweet, reminded me of apple pie, malt, plums, grape, golden syrup.
Doesn’t tast like a 7% ale.

UPDATED: NOV 8, 2006 As the botttle says, Rich Copper Ale. Very little head with good lacing. Carbonation is definitely present but about right for this type of beer. Flavor is good and rich. Alcohol is well masked with nice lasting hoppiness. TerryR (391) - Oswego, Illinois, USA - AUG 11, 2006
Copper color with an off white head. Pine/citrus hop aroma. Grainy/malty flavor followed by an earthy hop finish. Alcohol fairly well hidden. TomDecapolis (4618) - Milton, Delaware, USA - AUG 9, 2006
Pours a more translucent golden amber with an average foamy off white head that left nice lacing. Aroma of sweet malts, green tea, floral hops and molasses. Flavor of is also along the more malty, caramel side of things with a light hop bitterness that kind of tails into a pine/grapefruit thing. GeneralGao (3614) - Iowa City, Iowa, USA - AUG 8, 2006
12 oz bottle. Suprise: it poured a clear copper color. Off white head laced the glass. Nose is full of sweet malts, white grapes, and fruity tea. Tastes of malty cereal grains, alcohol, caramel, and molasses. Sweet on the tongue. Big and malty, but pretty good.

tap. Aroma: Pretty mild overall. Some malt sweetness, a touch of grapefruit and floral hop, and a hint of apple. Appearance: Deep copper color and fairly clear. Head wasn’t very exciting. Pretty small and short lived. Flavor: Some toasted malt, caramel, light grapefruit and piney hop flavors. Bitterness was pretty nice. Alcohol was well hidden. Palate: Medium bodied with a nice smooth texture. Moderate carbonation. Overall: I was excited to try this one, since it was the first time I’ve seen it in the area. Bit of a letdown. Not bad, But didn’t deliver the punch I was expecting. Jabswitch (278) - Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 28, 2006
Nice looking copperish color. Not a typical ale. Full flavored but I felt it lacked the hops flavor typically found in a pale. Still a very satisfying product. I liked it’s richness, appearance and liveliness. DavidP (1748) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - JUL 24, 2006
Bottle. Clear red-coppy body, thin white head. Basic sweet aroma - roasty caramel malt. Sweet brown sugar and more toasty caramel comprise the bulk of the flavor but there’s a well-blended mint\sage\citrus rind bitter hopping to help balance it out. Good mouthfeel with light carbonation. A nice enough beer, just not interesting. crazyvin (2026) - New York, USA - JUL 22, 2006
copper in color barely any head. A sweet honey like aroma with hints of alcohol and hops. Smooth to drink mainly sweet with some warming alcohol notes. Hops were minimal. smooth. lukin013 (215) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - JUL 18, 2006
Lagunitas continues to grow as one of my favorite breweries with this beer. As the name suggests... pours a copper color with a foamy white head. Aroma is mainly sweet malts with some hops. Taste lives up to the aroma... with the hops coming through mainly in the finish. Incredibly smooth mouthfeel had me swishing it around my mouth before swallowing... couldn’t tell it was 7.7% at all. Another winner from Lagunitas.
