Bottle from Sammy: Poured a deep copper color ale with small off-white foamy head with average retention. Aroma of deep caramel malt with some very subtle hops. Taste is also dominated by sweet caramel malt with very little hops presence that I could detect. Body is a bit thin and alcohol is well hidden. A bit weak overall and definitely lacking character to make this worthwhile. Theis (15150) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JUN 24, 2006
Bottle at home. Clear copper, fluffy off-white head. Aroma: Fresh hop, red berries. Taste: Malts - smooth, berries fresh hop, sweetness. Aftertaste: Bitter nut, metal (rusty iron). Immy (1958) - Virginia Beach, USA - JUN 16, 2006
12 oz bottle. Pours a nice amber color with a off-white, almost yellowy head. Citrusy hop nose, with some caramel and toffee. Flavor is a touch sweet caramel and toffee, then grows into a resiny hop flavor. The sweetness lingers in the finish, although a sharp bitter bite has to recede before you taste it. Solid and rather interesting offering, with a great story behind the name. Styles (2016) - Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA - JUN 13, 2006
Brilliant copo color with minimal off-white head. Aroma has plenty of caramel and toffee, somewhat oxidized. Smeel like an aged bigfoot in a way. Flavor was very weak caramel and nothing else. Very flat/thin mouthfeel. Maybe a bad bottle, will re-rate another in the near future. goldtwins (4319) - Nesconset, New York, USA - JUN 12, 2006
Poured a clear dark amber color with a small off-white head. Sweet malty aroma with toffee, sugar, and fruit. The flavor was malty with caramel notes to start. Hoppy flavor in the middle with some piney notes. Medium bodied. I just saw this is 7.7% I thought it was just a 6% or so beer. Well hidden.

Poured an amber color with a very modest head that laced minimally. The aroma was funky at first. Some light hops (citrus and floral) with a strong molasses type smell. The flavor was like a fairly funky caramel amber ale (some metallic and herbal / earthiness) that had some resinous and citrus hops in the finish. Mouthfeel was a little sticky. sunevdj (4143) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - JUN 10, 2006
Pours a clear dark amber with a tanned head. Mellow sweet- and sourness. Malty with woody/resiny notes. Also some nuttyness. Mellow carbonation. blankboy (7865) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 4, 2006
Bottle. Pours a clear copper-orange with a large lasting fuffy off-white head. Aroma of resiny hops and sweet malt. Nice, refreshing resiny hop flavour with lots of caramel malt and some fruit -- pretty tasty stuff. No sign of the alcohol at all. Light to medium bodied. This is a very easy to drink and pleasant Ale. MrEcted1 (144) - Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA - JUN 3, 2006
For it’s style (copper ale) this is truly a wonderful beer. Quite sweet with caramel, sugar, and perhaps some oranges and a hint of lemon zest. This beer has hops present but the malt definitely pulls through the most. Very rich with not much of an aftertaste. Pours a nice shiny copper penny color with average head and lacing. Really disapointed by this beer. Any real lack of taste, tastes like bitter water. Not sure how this beer managed to get rated as high as it did.
