This ale contains no actual copper but we’re pretty literal... It looked coppery, so we lamely called it a copper ale. Lots’a nice caramel malt though... Originally 5.9% alcohol by volume, currently

Yeah, I’m not getting any "kronik" aromas here either (i.e. nothing marijuanna-ish at all), so unless they are in some way referring to the higher alcohol content, I’m not sure what they are getting at with the name. Just as I did with the pils, I’m getting a weird olive vibe in the aroma, and after I get used to it, I can pick out some caramel. Quite a malty palate, a little on the sweet side. Decent.

Pours a dark red/copper color with the smell of olives. Sweet malty palate with a smooth finish.

On tap at the Rogue Public House in San Francisco. Amber with a white head. Thick wall of lace. There’s not much here! Is this supposed to be a hemp ale? It certainly does not have any of the hemp flavor I have tasted in other such beers. Maybe a little bit of tea flavor. Mild hops. Boring.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2008 Sweet citrusy aroma with slight hoppiness. Pours an orangey-amber color. Fizzy carbonation with fairly thin body. Flavors of caramel, molasses, pear, orange, and very slight hoppiness. Not bad, not great. I also have no idea why this is called kronik...

dwedin (249) - Happy Valley, Oregon, USA - MAR 28, 2006
Sweet caramel mixed with citrusy hop aromas. Light tan head, clear reddish brown. Light body with a rich malty sweet flavor. Just enough bittering hops to balance the sweetness but with a dry finish.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2007 I am really starting to get into this brewer. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a caramel color with a small tan head that fades. The aroma is sweet grapefruit and pine. The flavor is sweet and sugary with a strong grapefruity hop element and a caramel undertone. The finish is sweet and fruity. Yum.

winegarner (220) - san diego, California, USA - MAR 19, 2006
Poured a clear copper with a thin, off-white head, low carbonation from the 12 oz bottle. Gentle aromas of caramel and dark fruits. Flavors mimic the aromas with the addition of a nice balanced hop presence. Thin in body for an ale like this, though the alcohol is well hiden.

On tap at Hollinghead’s, Orange, CA. Copper-coloured with medium creamy head. Spicy caramel aroma. Well-balanced caramel and hop aroma. Medium body and good carbonation. A beer full of balance and harmony.

TheBeerNinja (137) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - MAR 13, 2006
Pours a clear deep amber with frothy off-white head. Nose is bold and malty sweet with hints of caramel and spicey hops. Flavor is crisp and sweet with fruity notes and just enough hops to clean you out for the next swallow.
