Pours out clear dark copper color with a thick fluffy head.
Aroma is caramel, some bready aromas and some light hops.
Body is kind of thin
Flavor is lightly sweeet, with some caramel flavors finished of with some piney/resinous hops.
Good enough to drink more than one, but I wouldn’t go out searching for one.
Clear and light brown with a thin head. Strong malt aroma with some honey, coffee and floral hops. Nice body. Creamy mouthfeel with big malt flavor and balacing hops. Clean finish. Nice ale. turbo (1271) - Arizona, USA - SEP 24, 2005
Bottle poured a nice dark read amber with a thick heavy white head and sticky lacing.
Crisp malt and hops aroma with a nice hops, citrus and hop flavor.
Alcohol is well hidden and makes for a great refreshing beer. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - SEP 22, 2005
Bottle, pre-Rita. Pours a thick and inviting orange. Aroma is spikey, with the hops jabbing into your nose like a steak knife. Flavor is citrusy, rounded out by sour hops. I’m detecting a bit of malt, but it’s so well hidden (like the alcohol) that unless you’re looking for it, you won’t findi it.
A fine beer. I’d have another. GregClow (3402) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - SEP 19, 2005
Draught sample at O’Brien’s, San Diego. Tea-like amber colour. Aroma is milder than expected, but quite fresh, with leafy hops and caramel malts. Flavour has similar characteristics, and is quite well balanced. Really hides that 7.7% - good thing I only had a small sample, as it went down very quickly.

UPDATED: DEC 12, 2007 Superb beer hides its alcohol behind a smooth and polished flavor. Excellent balance between hop aroma, bitterness, malt and sweetness. Really an excellent session beer, although at 7.7 you better sip slowly ... I wish I could get this on tap.
Well, they dropped the alcohol content on this from 7.7 to 5.9. Nowhere near as tasty a beer now .. rerate for current recipe :-(. bikesandbeers (547) - san diego, California, USA - AUG 20, 2005

orange/amber color with medium lacing. very smooth taste with an almost creamy aftertaste. Strong hints of caramel and hops. almost a piney/spicy taste to it. FoolishMortal (990) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 31, 2005
Orange Auburn amber with a medium sized white head. Rich caramel malt aroma. Aroma carrys over to the flavor, totally dominated by caramel malt, some bracing bitterness from hops, particularly noticable in the finish. Mouthfeel is medium and fairly smooth, with a sticky build up.
