This ale contains no actual copper but were pretty literal... It looked coppery, so we lamely called it a copper ale. Lotsa nice caramel malt though... Originally 5.9% alcohol by volume, currently

A: Carmel colored... I guess you could say "copper" in color, very small cream colored head that lasts only for a couple of minutes resulting in a little bit of lacing on my glass. S: Sweet caramel malt. A hint of pine hops but, mainly carmel malt though. T: Sweet carmel malt gives way to a slight pine finish. A sweetness comes back at the aftertaste. Pretty well balanced... M/D: Light to medium body as expected... Not very carbonated...almost seems a bit flat. Not my favorite Lagunitas brew, but palatable. Serving type: bottle

Yet another Lagunitas standby, gotta rate em all! This one pours a rich dark caramelly color. The aroma is sweet and malty and caramelly. The taste is rich deep earthy malts with yes caramel and even a little spicy/tangy kick on the back end. Overall, this is smooth, easy drinking, but with a little complexity and an unexpected 6.75% ABV, it rises above most of its amber peers. Good for realizing the high temp tomorrow is 69 degrees lol.

Has a rich copper look indeed with a whipped head of creamy foam. Intensely rich notes of caramel and toffee with a hint of oak and dark dried fruit at the end . Very smooth and sweet.

Bottle. Deep copper with thin white head. Big bread and caramel malt, dried fruits and ester elements, with underpinning citrus elements. Initial moderate bitterness, with big bread and caramel malt mid palate. Earthy hop bitterness provides long finish and prevents any sweetness. Enjoyed this as my first autumnal beer for the season. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Js. Pours a slightly hazy brown with a half finger of foam. Caramel and toffee nose. Clean and very malt forward. More caramel, a little wood and earth. Dry finish. Basic, but OK for a malt head I suppose.

Bottle. Copper Amber in colour. Malty; sweet toasty malts, caramel. Hoppy; grassy and resinous piney hops. Fruity; citrus fruit. Good malt/hop/fruit balance. Sweet throughout with dryish finish. Easy drinking. Enjoyed this. (2011-09-04)
