Bottle from Keg N Bottle #2: Pours a dark color of the brown family and creates a rocky patch of foam. Faint smell of roasted down malt and chocolaty sweetness for an aroma. The flavor ends up empty and hollow with only a minor tasting of sweet chocolate. Not impressed with any area of this stout.

Rich chocolate male nose. Dark brown to black color with a thin, yet lasting head. Smooth, silky texture on tongue with little to no bitterness. Flavors of cocoa and just a hint of nuttiness and malt. Finish is long and smooth, chocolate malt flavors through out. Purchased in 08 or 09 in Pinetop, AZ. From local market.

The market rally has been going more than 6 years, and this beer has been ageing for more than 6 years. I liked it colder, with peppercorn spice still pushing through and chocolate buffing. At warmer temperatures, more blas, still a good cellaring effort. From the unknown Quebec trader, you know who you are.

from 2012? Big bodied in a way that their regular impy stout utterly failed at. add to that the chocolate notes on top of roast and some light chili spice and this is quite nice!

This may be the last bottle in existence and it is incredible. Aroma is of raisens and dark fruits. Appearance is dark blood like with a two finger tan head. Taste is incredibly smooth with lots of dark fruits and a slight chocolate finish. Palate is smooth and creamy. Overall this is one beer I will miss. Lagunitas should brew this again and release it after it has aged a few years :)

2nd of 2 bottled purchased a couple of years ago. This bottle poured into a Lagunitas pint glass. a blood red brown with a sweet head that thins outs. Aroma of a dark fruit sweetness. Flavor is incredibly smooth. Molasses, slight cocoa, a lot of prunes & raisins. Fortunately I have been graced with 3 bottles of this lovely sweet brew. Chose to open this last bottle tonight only because the fear of stagnation crossed my mind. So flippin glad I took the plunge once again. Milk chocolate but less white peppercorn. A truly balanced imperial stout that is unlike so many other. Should anyone find this brew...BUY it...DRINK it!

Bottle thanks to Springlicker. Missed this one when it was on the shelves. Glad to try it. Pours brown with off white head. Nose and taste of cocoa nib, light molasses, lightly roasted milk chocolate and earth. Lighter medium body.

Bottle:   Deep caramel, thin to moderate light beige head, sparce lacing.   Odd its not darker for an Imperial Stout.   Musty chocolate aroma, a little carob like.   Also has a bit of Tootsie Roll on the nose.   Whoa, much more Tootsie Roll on the tongue.   Also feels a little spicy.   Low hop aspects, definitely malt oriented.   Moderate to full body and mouthfeel.   Seems like it could be Cherry Tootsie Roll.   Reading the description it says Chocolate Pepper Stout.   Seems to be the case, and over the years it has mellowed out a lot.   Different and entertaining.

Pours a cloudy brown with a thin beige head. Chocolatey aroma, with licorice, raisin, and caramel. Chocolate taste is apparent, but it is mixed with a good nutty flavor as well. Roasty. Quite rich also. The darker fruit impressions that I was anticipating do not appear. Medium bodied with a syrupy texture. This was alright, but something is somewhat off in my opinion. Possibly due to the fact that this bottle is very old.

ICEatALAMO (1358) - Troy, Michigan, USA - JUN 9, 2012
Bottle. Strong aroma with malt and sweetness. The taste is mild for what I was expecting. Don't get much of the pepper at all. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Dark mahogany/brown with minimal lasting head that quickly went to a ring. Aroma was chocolate nibs, some sweet toffee, and some dark fruits. Taste was mild chocolate, I am still getting a little bit from the peppercorns perhaps, toffee. No real signs of oxidation and was quite surprised on how smooth this was.
