The Cascades (?) really kick you in the ass with this brew. These guys eased up on the aroma hops, it would seem, but dumped in lots of bittering hops. Oh well. Can't have it all. A nice effort. P-tor44 (886) - Anchorage, Alaska, USA - OCT 30, 2002
delicate piney hop nose, glowing amber color. good bitterness.............. herbjones (742) - Orange, California, USA - OCT 19, 2002
Amber pour with a light white head. Nose is floral with a definate malty sweetness to it. Flavor doesnt live up to the nose though. Strange biscuity(?) flavor to it. Dont know about this one. akinm (282) - San Diego, California, USA - SEP 30, 2002
golden honey color, very clear, nice bubbles in the glass. nice hoppy, resinous aroma. the flavor is hoppy and something else i cant quite place but i like. easy bitterness in the end. nice pale ale. beerguy101 (5364) - Newark, California, USA - SEP 26, 2002
Medium gold color, large head. Hoppy aroma. A smooth and hoppy pale ale. Full flavor, full smooth mouthfeel. Nice floral hoppyness. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

A very clear honey-golden color with a large creamy head that stays with you to the end and leaves a lovely lace on the glass. Sweet and biting hop notes to the nose that makes it smell like a potential hop-monster; though, it really isn't. Fairly mellow and well balanced up front with some pepperyness toward the middle. Toward the end there is a ton of hop bitterness. The beer seems a bit light and watery in the mouth. PorterPounder (8286) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 27, 2002
Clean, citrusy aroma. Full bodied tart pale ale with a smooth finish. Very enjoyable. foduck (330) - Seattle, Washington, USA - AUG 6, 2002
Hoppy and toasty aroma. White head, not very big but it lasts, golden colored. Hoppy flavor, a little thin, then some fruitiness in the finish. I drank some Red Seal right before this, so it feels a little thin on my palate. Overall an enjoyable beer, but not as good as their IPA or their double IPA. hopscotch (11236) - Vero Beach, Florida, USA - JUL 14, 2002
This beer rocks.
This hazy, golden ale smells great... very spicey and a bit acrid. The beer is perfectly balanced and is extremely fizzy & dry in the mouth. WAY CARBONATED. A great summer beer. Bolt (117) - Boulder Creek, California, USA - JUN 20, 2002
This pours good and clear and has a nice amber color with a frothy head that smells like raisons and pears. The taste is pretty light and balanced with a small hoppy floral finish. If you like Pale Ale, this is a nice one.
