3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle. A deep rich golden orange color with a nice foamy white head. I was impressed with the hop flavor and feel of this on the palate. It’s hard to believe this is only a 5% abv beer. For what this beer is (style and objectives), this is excellent.
Pours a nice medium amber gold. Transparent, no noticeable haze. Big white head. Rocky with big bubbles sticking to the walls of the glass. The aroma could be turned up. It has a nice hop tone of grapefruit, tangerine, grass and a bit of pine. There’s also a pleasant malt presence contributing a good deal of caramel. Maybe a touch of butter. With a big increase to the hop aroma, this beer would shine. The taste is a step up from the aroma. There’s some pleasant bitterness, particularly in the finish. Fairly dry. Very easy to drink. The malt flavor is pleasant enough. Nice doughy, caramel flavor. However, this is a hop-forward APA, and while the hops are well handled in the taste, they need to be turned up in the aroma. Still, this is a good beer, and I’d be very happy to drink a few pints while watching a football game or something. Nice session-ish beer. Bomber, received as a gift from a bottle shop (whose name I don’t recall and can’t find on the google) I was taken to by a friend in Petaluma. Clear gold amber pour, ample white head, no lacing. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, pine, caramel, and flowers. Taste big on grapefruit. Clean, crisp, refreshing. Assertive bitter bite. Medium body, moderate carbonation. A nice, unexpected treat! high_on_hops (809) - Burlingame, California, USA - MAR 24, 2013
Pours a clear medium gold with a foamy white head and lacing. It has a great floral and citrus aroma with a background of pale malt. The flavor is floral and citrus hops up front with a maltier middle and a citrus aftertaste over a medium body.

Bomber shared by Forgetfu (thanks Bill!) poured a clear orange amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, grapefruit, earthiness, light orange and light grassiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of carmel, grapefruit, orange zest, light earthiness and light grassiness with a crisp dry lingering bitter grapefruit finish.

Bottle @ Ratman’s. Pours a clear dark orange appearance with an off white head. Über spicy, garlic, onion, hoppy, herbal hoppy aroma. A bit chewy, cracker, grapefruity, spicy flavor. Fun stuff. brokensail (16633) - Dublin, California, USA - FEB 20, 2013
Orange/amber colored pour with a white head. Strong floral and orange hop aroma, some peach sweetness, a bit of bread, and perhaps some grass. Very light pine to the aroma, too. There’s a mild sweetness of bread to the flavor. Plenty of pine and citrus bitterness, nice floral notes, lots of grass, and a dry finish. Good grapefruit and orange peel notes. badlizard (5533) - Berkeley, California, USA - FEB 15, 2013
I once saw Ween play at the Fillmore; it was awesome. On tap. Clear bright orange with a fluffy white head. Nice strong grassy and citrus aroma and taste with some light resiny notes and a grassy finish. Not bad. LtDan (1806) - Los Angeles County, California, USA - FEB 10, 2013
Appearance: Pours a clear amber gold with a decent thin cap of white and white lacing left behind.craftycarl21 (2339) - Seattle, Washington, USA - JAN 23, 2013
Aroma: Fresh citrusy hops, orange peel, light bread dough, bread crust.
Taste: Juicy hops, bitter piny hops, dry toasty malt, finishes very clean.
Mouthfeel: Thin, juicy, average carbonation.
Overall: A very tasty Pale Ale. It’s one of my favorite styles when the hops do the talking and the malt does the walkin’.
Bottle thanks to Dan. Spicy and very tea-like on the nose, with grassy bitterness and hints of melon and grapefruit showing through a bit more in the flavor. Dry, herbal and floral, with secondary fruit aspects. Crisp and clean. Very nice.
