COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Special Ale is, in reality, a reconstructed exhumation of the very first ale that we ever brewed way, way back, in 1993. Brewed with a big head, a muscular malty thorax, a silky texture & all strung together with a hoppy sweet nerve sack... yum.

35,5cl. bottle. Amber/copper with a creamy white head. Nicely hopped aroma - grapefruity/piney & a slight sweet malty note. Well balanced, soft & full bodied. Power fruity hoppy - but still pleasant in a nice way. Lasting bitter end. Good drinkability!

Bottle, 7.6%. Sweet caramelly hoppiness in aroma. Clear red copper colour, small white head. Caramelly tea flavour with a good sweetness and a little pepper. Aftertaste is slightly rough, but does well to cleanse palate.

Citrus and malt aroma. Deep reddish amber color. Creamy hoppy taste, finishing with a rough bitter character. Must be a lot of malt to have some lingering sweetness side by side with the bitterness. Bittersweet. Works for me. The hops linger on the tongue, and the light citrus persists. A touch of astringency. Good stuff.

Scopey (15753) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - MAR 9, 2012
Tap at Lagunitas. It pours clear orangey-amber, with a small white head. The nose is spice, leather, pine, wood varnish and leaf. The taste is pine, resin, hay, grass, leaf, spice, fruitiness and wood polish, with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Decent, but not great.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small creamy off white head that leaves good sticky lacing along the glass. The aroma is a sweet fruity malt with pine and light hops. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet fruit taste with a light hop and pine and nice bitter finish. Easy to drink a very good American strong ale from Lagunitas.
