COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice enroute, nor as old as the 10,000 or so miles of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentloid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again, now stop. Think again, and stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you’re on.

Bottle. Pours a clear light copper with a one finger off-white head that lasts leaving good lacing. Aroma of citrus hops, pine hops, and fresh malt. Taste is the same as aroma. Medium full mouthfeel and well balanced bitterness. A well balanced and tasty IPA.

43 different hops and 65 various malts? Maybe this is a joke that I’m not getting, but this tastes like a pretty typical IPA to me - not that that’s a bad thing. Pours a nice deep copper with a khaki head. Very nice looking beer. Aroma is piney/resiney hops. Taste is a bit of malty sweetness, and then the piney and citrus hops. Nice bitter finish. Very drinkable beer. I think I’ll pick up a few more bombers of this, since the price is right.

Draft, Baja Bean, Staunton VA. Medium orange with white head. Malt-forward aromas of toasted caramel and burnt sugar, with some citrus and pine hops in the background (way in the background). Flavor is again toasty malt with nice bitterness throughout, and some hoppiness coming through here and there. Pretty watery palate, disappointing. All in all an easy drinker, but a bit flat throughout. just not what I want in an IPA.

UPDATED: SEP 26, 2009 08.05.07. Bottle. Skunky hop nose, slight citrus but muted. Clear yellowish with no head. No body, not much to the beer at all. Watery hops with no backbone.5/2/5/1/7 Re-rate 09.25.09. Bottle Tangerine and grapefruit nose with some pine character. Great clarity, gold with a thin white head and heavy carbonation. Big bitterness with strong pine and a lingering astringency. Slight sweetness. Nice full bodied at the front of the sip into a dry bitter finish. 7/4/7/3/14

UPDATED: JUN 5, 2008 This is what I call a prototypical IPA. Hoppy, but not overwhelming, and enough citrus tones to convey the necessary message. Very drinkable at 5.7%, too.

Pretty tasty. Just a bit (and I mean just barely) on the watery side. I guess I look for a little more punch in my india pale ales, but the flavor is right on with the style.

Orangeish amber pour with foamy offwhite head. Slightly subdued subtly sweet caramel, malt smell with a bigger note of hops come together and give it almost a candy like smell. Not quite the hop bomb in the nose I expected, but it’s different, and nice still. Taste gives a candy like malt sweetness, and some hops, but not very aggressively so. I’d say its a mild IPA bitterness wise, and this is unique, very drinkable and a great IPA that I’d have again.

ON tap at Lagunitas. Slightly hazy deep yellow with no head. Grapefruit aroma with hints of pine. Bright palate. Citrus and pine taste with a hint of bitterness to the finish.

Sort of an IPA light in my book. Very refreshing beer that might be a good start to those making the transition from macrobrews. A good bitterness that will not overwhelm, this is an easy drinker.
