Very fresh... pulled off the bottling line in late September. A nice sample of the style, wish I had another!
UPDATED: AUG 21, 2017 Draft at Khyber Pass. Looks clear ruby red under candlelight. Malty IPA. Grapefruit. Plum. Tangerine. Pine. Treacle. Bread crust. Bit like a hopped-up Bock or Bitter. Well balanced but cannot see myself seeking this out. mrjaxson (598) - .08 Junction, Wisconsin, USA - AUG 20, 2017
Totally on the hop side of the lager ladder. Just minor amounts of malt sweetness in the taste but this otherwise features pine trees and oranges in the aroma and a bitey bitterness on the finish. Enjoyed from a bomber. Classic Lagunitas jibber jabber in the fine print on the label is worth a bonus "appearance" point. FROTHINGSLOSH (7891) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 15, 2017
Sampled on draft this beer poured a caramel brown color with a medium sized foamy tan head that left excellent lacing m he aroma was bitter with perfumey and citric hops. The flavor was bitter with citrus, perfume, pine and sweet toasted caramel. Long hoppy finish. Moderately full bodied and smooth. Nice. DWestrick (765) - Ft Wayne, Indiana, USA - AUG 13, 2017

This one is kind if interesting. I think the lager yeast gave it just a bit of a change in character. Well balanced with hops and the front and back. Sweet body. drdisque (860) - Illinois, USA - AUG 10, 2017
Leave it to Lagunitas to make a 7.9% Lager. On tap at a restaurant. Pours clear fizzy copper with a thick head. Flavor is malty with a fair amount of pleasant bitterness. Tastes not as big as it is. Not my kind of beer, but well crafted. PorterPounder (8087) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - AUG 4, 2017
Emeryville, Ca. - Target - 22 oz bomber. Medium amber pour, bone colored head, nice lacing, Aroma is that of juicy fruit gum and dates. Solid flavor, some citrus undertones, a bit of nuttiness, some date-like fruitiness. Thick, sticky moutthfeel, Rating #19 from my Northern California vacation - enjoyed at a picnic lunch in Jebediah Smith Redwoods State Park, California. Deep caramel color with a generous creamy tan colored head that held up forever and left very nice lace. Aromas of sweet malts, with dark fruit and caramel, and some earthy hops. Taste of toasty grain, caramel, toffee, some cherry-like fruitiness especially as it warms, and gentle earthy hops. Full body, medium carbonation, creamy smooth mouthfeel and a slight sweetness in the finish. BigBeer45 (1541) - Michigan, USA - JUL 29, 2017
Bottle sampled in a glass,
this beer was a amber-gold in the glass, there was some haze in the glass, the pour made an off-white cover,
it had aromas of citrus and herb hops that had a bit of an earth note, hops had a touch of wild onion to them,
dark lager malt, faint bread, a little sweetness that resembles a strong European lager,
the flavors were citrus and herb hops, dark lager malt, and malt sweetness,
hop citrus and pine bitterness was about medium that hung around,
this drink had a medium mouth feel, and there was average carbonation,
the hops were out front on the nose and in the flavor,
the nose had the strong European lager alcohol note in a small way, the flavor the same,
I did not enjoy this mix of hops and dark lager that this beer presents,
I would not buy again.
