22oz bottle. Poured a deeper amber color with an off white head. For an older bottle, wasn’t that bad. Malty. Caramel, toffee with some citrus. Jorn69 (3373) - Ängelholm, SWEDEN - FEB 23, 2016
UPDATED: MAR 2, 2016 @ Havregatan 201209xx. Bottle from Systembolaget. Malty, caramely and sweet, medium body with an oily texture. alexsdad06 (10951) - West Chester, Ohio, USA - JAN 9, 2016
Bottle at home from notes. Pours a clear orange amber color with a medium sized off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, some fruity character, citrus, candied notes, light toast, ok but not much that stands out here. GreatDane1632 (1174) - North Dakota, USA - JUL 18, 2015
Rated based on notes taken 20 Dec 2012 -- Drank on the eve of the end of the Mayan calendar to ensure at least I drank one last great beer if the world ended. This beer was delish! Great sipper/chugger/conversation/contemplative/enjoyabl brew. It’s truly whatever you want it to be. Sparf (289) - SWEDEN - MAR 29, 2015

Helfyllig kropp, lätt oljig viskositet, perfekt kolsyra.
Bottle. Pours copper orange with a thick white head that left sticky lacing. Aroma of caramel, pine, citrus, grapefruit, orange and had a lingering bitter finish. fiulijn (21470) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - DEC 6, 2014
It pours a cloudy light amber color with thick creamy head. Immediately there is a nice aroma of leafy hops; also some mellow toffee. Soft mouthfeel, round; it has a very mellow flavor, malty base but not thick; still a decent level of bitterness, although the qualities are fading. slowrunner77 (13004) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 30, 2014
An aging beer, but still pleasant, in a different way.
"another nice effort from Lagunitas. lighter than the Lucky 13 (the only beer i could think of as comparison) even though it’s a little sticky and either hoppier or just fresher than the 13 (which is entirely possible). spice, caramel and fresh hop aroma and flavor." Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance- Pours a clear golden amber color with a two finger white head. The head has a good level of retention, slowly fading over time to leave a nice level of lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell- The aroma of the beer is a mix of sweet and hoppy. The sweet is a blend of tropical fruits and a large dose of caramel with the hoppy being of a predominant grapefruit and citrus aroma.
Taste- The flavor starts out rather sweet with a strong caramel and brown sugar flavor mixed with some tropical fruit flavors. A citrus hop flavor is present upfront which grows stronger as the flavor advances more toward the end. Along with the increase in the citrus hop comes an increase in the sweeter more sugary flavors of caramel and brown sugar all at the expanse of some of the fruit. In the end the still very sweet flavor is met by some more hop of a pine and a floral nature which in the end leaves a rather sugary hopped but pleasant flavor to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew was average in thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that was rather average as well. Both suited the mix of sweet and hoppy flavors rather nicely and made for a rather easy drinker even at 8.8 % abv.
Overall- A rather sweet but tasty, none the less, IPA with an easy drinking style. While not quite up to the traditional Lucky 13 it was an interesting take, and is well worth the try if you get a chance.
2012 bottle, part of my Sunday 2014 cellar clean out day. Copper color with still perfect carbonation leaving a decent head retention. Aroma is orange marmalade, pine hops with some light grassy hops. Good amount of citrus.
Flavor shows light bitterness upfront in the form of grapefruit and hints of resin. Big malt backbone giving a sweet bread and caramel. Secondary flavor of candy sugar and sweet grain. The balance between the pine hops and citrus and sweetness is pretty nice. Texture is slick with the alcohol being totally subdued at this point. Overall very drinkable, nice sipper.
