Bottle thanks to swalden28. Poured golden with a white head and some lace. Aroma was caramel, peach, and mango. Flavor is same as the nose with the malt and hops. Body was medium with medium carbonation. BMan1113VR (7929) - Los Angeles, California, USA - JUL 29, 2011
On tap. Billed as an imperial alt...its not. Pours with a clear bronze to brown body with an off-white head that leaves good lacing. Aromas are hoppy, herbal, toasty, bready, brown sugar and marzipan. A bit sticky sweet. A hint of weed. Flavors are hoppy, fruity, and stale hops (that are a touch citrusy). Grainy, tea like, brown sugar. ASA feel, not an Alt for sure. Some alcohol, medium bubbles. Not a big fan to be honest. Messy. SSSteve (4006) - - JUL 28, 2011
bottle. clear dark gold with small white head. nose is very biscuity and toasty with some burnt toffee. flavors of root beer hard candy and pinch of cinnamon. finally a non-hoppy beer from lagunitas!!..and it’s fantastic! lightish body. mildly sweet and rightfully so. abv is hidden. jstraw (1967) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUL 28, 2011
Amber-gold with big, flotsam, white head / Musty, skunky, nose of sour malt and citrus / Medium to full body, big malts somewhat offset by hopping with good, lightly bitter, finish / Subdued flavors of sour malt, resin, bread, lemon, mango, kiwi, caramel, and cardboard / Peculiar, although not without interest. My least favorite beer ever, though, by this great brewer. Almost seems like it wasn’t test batched. mcberko (19173) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUL 27, 2011
22 oz. bottle, pours a clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma of crusty bread, yeast and sweet malts. Flavour of sweet bready malt, caramel, candied sugar, mild hop bitterness and some Belgian style yeast. Solid, though lacking depth / complexity. Nowhere near as good as the original Lucky 13.

Bottle. Pours a dark red-orange with a large-grained, elastic head. Nose is tropical -- pomelo, mango, kiwi, and lemon. Heavy hops bitterness on the open, with malt carrying it through to a crisp, bitter close. Finish is long and has a touch of sweetness, and the mouthfeel is surprisingly round and rich. It’s big, it’s good, it’s hoppy. redlight (2325) - Orlando, Florida, USA - JUL 25, 2011
Tropical fruit on the nose, kiwi, mango, sweet. Pours golden blonde with a dense white head. Big hop flavor right off the bat, tropical fruits dominate with a bready sweetness and over laping earthy bitterness bringing them all together. Another good hoppy beer from Lagunitas! unclemattie (4406) - Georgia, USA - JUL 24, 2011
22oz bottle, purchased at Pop’s, Suwanee, Ga. Auburn-Orange color, sticky white head. Nice lacing. Aroma of caramel malt, wheat, and fresh honey. Flavor of honey, caramel malts, a touch of wheat, and cotton candy. Complex hop character has a bit of wood, citrus, honey, and resin. It’s nice. Nik925 (800) - USA - JUL 24, 2011
Just a amazingly amount of delicious hops...buckets and buckets of them. All tastes are of hop and then x. Perfect choice of hops. The malt is delicious, mellow for 9%, and nicely tucked behind the hops. Even with all these hops, 77IBUs sounds about right as the bitter isn’t overwhelming. Tastes like it was dry hopped with equal parts beer to hops. Hop Stoopid and now this, Lagunitas found the secret to making the great hop bombs. 22oz bottle poured into a Snifter at 47°. Color is a clear gold with good carbonation and a soft white head. Aroma is a big fresh hop scent. It has a lighter medium body and a light crisp mouth feel. Flavor has a touch of malt that gives it a sweet base but the hops jump in big with an orange candy like taste that turns more citrus in the end with a bold bitterness. In the after taste the citrus stands out and hangs on. Overall its a very tasty brew, definitely a unique and complex flavor.
