I was looking for a high-alcohol beer, something with some kick to it, and I’m glad I found this. This is why I go for high-alcohol beers. So much flavor, but not at all overwhelming. Well balanced, pure taste. Delicious. burtonbaton930 (103) - New Jersey, USA - JUL 3, 2011
Got a 22oz. bomber for a fourth of July party. Couldn’t wait to open it so I basically drank the thing at room temp. Didn’t matter. Nose is full of fruit and bready malts, a smell that never gets old. Pours a nice golden color with perfect carbonation. The two finger head dies off rather quickly but leaves a shit load of lacing around the glass. I was in love with the first sip. Full of citrusy hops with a great malt bill supporting everything. Notes of pear, peaches, and mango? Fantastic brew from Lagunitas. My only qualm is that it almost mirrors the lil sumpin sumpin just with a higher gravity. Nik925 (795) - USA - JUL 24, 2011
Just a amazingly amount of delicious hops...buckets and buckets of them. All tastes are of hop and then x. Perfect choice of hops. The malt is delicious, mellow for 9%, and nicely tucked behind the hops. Even with all these hops, 77IBUs sounds about right as the bitter isn’t overwhelming. Tastes like it was dry hopped with equal parts beer to hops. Hop Stoopid and now this, Lagunitas found the secret to making the great hop bombs. nogov (121) - Texas, USA - SEP 2, 2011
UPDATED: JUN 21, 2012 Bomber. Huge attractive nose. Peachy, Grapefruit, Bread, lemon. Pours beautifully. Rich golden, with hint of burnt orange. Sleight beige head cap that lingers. Taste is nuanced and complex. Huge hit of chewy fruit....melon, banana bread, with citrus back. Finish is great balance of sweet malt and bitter hops. Often times taste sweet and bitter at same time. Wonderfully balanced beer. kidmartinek (5001) - austin, Texas, USA - JUN 28, 2012
Brilliant clear copper with a head that is bigger than yours. The aroma is of citrus, danky and piny hops. Lagoooniitaas! I don’t feel like describing this beer within food terms. All you need to know is its fucking awesome.

Whatta great beer. EVERYTHING you want in a beer like this. Nothing small at all about this. Big hoppy aroma, catty and citrussy. It really was like smelling fresh peeled tangerines. Flavor is just an intense experience of malts and hops. Cotton candy sweet malts, woody, citrussy hops. Alcohol, more hops, more malts. Pretty obscene and not for the weak of heart. I enjoyed the original Lucky 13 so much, this was a great surprise. Loved it.
Pours a beautiful cloudy golden amber with a small white head. Aroma is mandarin Orange, honey, and light malts. Flavor is honey sweet citrus and malts up front with an easy & pleasing light bitterness in the finish. The alcohol teases you and then disappears. Awesome beer and one of my favorites. budznsudz (582) - Audubon, New Jersey, USA - APR 27, 2012
Pours copper red with nice lacing that clings to the glass. The aroma is citrus and pine. Taste is flowery hops with a tremendous malt backbone. Classified as an American strong ale but tastes like an imperial red or a straight up double ipa. Really fantastic, top notch in my book. birrasam (9) - Arizona, USA - JUN 17, 2012 does not count
Great pour leads to a crisp caramel appearance.
Has a brown sugar aroma and taste is a true ale with hints of sweetness. Palate slightly dry after.
Great ale and hoppiness present yet not overpowering. Caoset (3) - SWEDEN - OCT 23, 2012 does not count
