COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
At the height of the heat in the heart of the summer, we felt that the only cure was a raging mouthful of fresh hops and malt. Caution: May remove enamel from teeth. This is Lagunitas IPA pumped up by about 30%!

Pours a medium-to-dark amber with a white head. Light aroma of floral hops with a hint of penicillin. In the mouth, it has spiky carbonation and medium body. Taste was relatively dry, with solid floral hops giving away to moderate bitterness.

A decent IPA, but not among the best. Perfume like some what floral aroma, medium bodied palate, but the taste was not as bitter as I expect from an Imperial IPA.

This is pretty hoppy. Maybe too much of a good thing. The experience of a 22ozer was a little bit much for one person.

22 oz bottle. Poured a clear orange color. Head was thick, white, and reduced to a thin film. There was some decent lace on the glass at the end. Aroma was of light flowery hops. Medium bodied and slightly sweet on the tongue. Citrusy hop dominated flavor, but not over the top. There was also a touch of biscuity malt. Mild hop bitterness at the end. Decent.

Fantastic aroma, and very indicative of a west coast style hopping. Caramel sweet malt, and nice PNW hops make this a good beer. Nothing I would consider overwhelmingly aggro, but a good, dryish DIPA.

Bottle. Golden brown pour with a one finger, frothy head. Aromas are slightly sweet with a little bit of a pineapple hops character. Body is pretty heavy on malt for an IPA but the hops comes through nicely in the finish. Kind of a kinder/gentler IPA, so to speak. Caramel malt sweetness is lovely, as is the pine finish. Mouthfeel is slick and kind of heavy. In spite of decided lack of a strong and bitter hops blast I’m enjoying this quite a bit. Very well balanced.

I’m on a Beer streak, y’all. The hits keep comin’. What can I say? I really might have to change my name to "The Great BEER Magnet". It’s like that. Not too strong, and nowhere near weak...this stuff is "juuuust right", like the porridge.

watered iced tea look, golden-honey brown. Head is yellow tinged, like smoker’s teeth, and huge, long-lasting. Smells of pine needles & pine apple. Taste is large and sweet, mildly acidic from citrus hops. Not bitter though, lots of malt here, barley, a little oily. After is vegetable hops.

hotstuff (5263) - Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA - APR 22, 2007
Bottle. Very small ivory head that quickly dissipated, virtually no lacing, transparent, visible carbonation, and an orange hue with golden highlights. Malty, some caramel, citrus, grapefruit, hops and a hint of pine. Flavor was lightly bitter, malty hoppy, grapefruit, some pine and the ABV was well hidden. Lingering hoppy aftertaste. Dry and slightly tingly mouthfeel. Light-medium body. Not over-the-top hops. Definitely worth a try if this one comes your way!

UPDATED: MAR 6, 2008 Re-Rate 3/6/08 citrus and pine hop aroma ... sweet citrus rind, concentrated orange and medium pine resin ... very nice balance of pine and citrus with a good amount of light sweetness ... maybe its the new batch or maybe its the timing of my growing appreciation of craft beer over the last year, but this is better than I remember 1st Rating (4.1) slightly hazy copper, small head...strong hop aroma, citrus and malt...great crisp hoopy taste..very refreshing..great IPA
