One of my favorite non double/triple/imperial IPA’s. Clipper City Loose Cannon has been my go to everyday drink all night IPA aside from Alpha King, Belle’s etc..., but this takes the cake. I am with my other OHIO bro on here from West Chester, It has all the right notes a good IPA should have and better. It is a bad ass brew!!!!!!! a10555 (125) - Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA - MAR 17, 2007
This is a beer site, and I’m tired of talking about beer the way wine people talk about wine. Who cares how it smells, what color it is and all that jazz. Bottom Line, this beer Rocks! It is truly the gladiator of IPAs in my opinion... Maximus, Maximus, Maximus....Rose petals fall around the 6 pack, and the king...gives the thumbs up! chimplechamp (601) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAR 16, 2007

Very good relaxing beer. chef201atc (261) - Fort Worth, Texas, USA - MAR 14, 2007
Pour a clear deep golden copper with an ample frothy off-white head. Some citursy hops come through in the aroma and, to a lesser degree, some pine. Nose is also a little sweet. Palate is slick and just a tad sticky. Medium carbonation. Nice hop bitterness and grapefruit hop flavor. Just enough malty sweetness to be balanced.

Bottle... Poured a red/amber color with a foamy head that lasted with nice lacing. Malty, hoppy aroma, the usual for an IPA w/ the usual palate, mildy carbonated. Flavors of hops, caramel, alcohol, grainy and mild hops. Finishes with a lasting appeal. churchill00 (154) - Austin, Texas, USA - MAR 12, 2007
Bottle. Pours a beautiful amber color. Smells earthy with a strong aroma of wood--like cedar. Taste is expectedly hoppy for something called ’maximus’. Spicy in the mouth. Taste is strong, dry, and has a medium/long finish. I can’t shake the wood taste. Jeeez. steelers37 (62) - little ferry, New Jersey, USA - MAR 11, 2007
