This is a solid IPA. Very strong hop character along with some citrus flavor. Wow, large head initially then diminishes with good lacing. lampeno420 (320) - Zeeland, Michigan, USA - FEB 24, 2008
Nice fresh DIPA, although it wasn’t as thick as some, which helps the fresh-ness come through. Lots of grapefruit in the whole bottle. Mild and drinkable through all the hops, which gets it another point or two. Balance is very good. Rosslew (320) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 29, 2015
Gets whacked early from the hop smash. Pine and resin. Oily, fruity and a hint of the alcohol but a reasonably soft finish. Good perfume in glass. Like a pot pourri.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2011 Pours a mostly clear amber with sizable head. Very aromatic - citrus hops - grapefruit, orange - very nice. Very flavorful, and like many IIPAs - very dry and bitter at the end. Quite enjoyable - would gladly purchase as often as I can - cheers! cleverlobo (319) - Connecticut, USA - APR 15, 2011
bottle; amber clear with small off-white head; aroma-pine and floral, some citrus, sweet malt; taste-mild sweetness and carbonation, very good bitterness without overdoing it. Very good double IPA, accessible to all

8/25/16. Bottle. Not my favorite DIPA. Perhaps not a fair comparison but I drank this a night after a Wicked Weed Freak of Nature. Kind of heavy with none of the refined nose or mouth found in the WW. Solid but not a stand out.

The hoppy aroma is perfect and I strongly suggest using a sniffer glass to enjoy this. Very strong on taste but balanced, robust is the perfect word. The appearance when first poured is also perfect with a rich white head on a golden platform only problem is the head dissipates quickly. Taste is perfecto for an imperial IPA just the right amount of bitter hops with a bit of sweetness. Full bodied on the palate with a soft carbonated taste and a long finish. A well crafted beer that would par with a steak or a burger. JoeZasada (317) - Beaumont, Alberta, CANADA - MAY 23, 2008
UPDATED: MAY 24, 2008 Pours a dark amber colour with excellent white head.... tastes strongly of malt with a fruity hoppiness, not too thick lick many double IPAs... a brilliant concoction indeed! joshpiledean (316) - Seattle, Washington, USA - APR 4, 2006
12 oz bottle, sixer. Cloudy golden pour, vicious chunky head that quickly faded. Very piney aroma, marked orange tones. Smooth and almost like it wants to be a little sweet with a kick in the ass of hops, hops are mostly sticky pine, but short aftertaste, fruity hops tones. Nice and even body. Not at all harsh, just very abrupt and punchy. Indeed, much better than I anticipated. StompBrockmore (316) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 22, 2007
650ml bomber, shared with VeloVampire - pours a deep amber/golden shade, with a relatively small white head. Aroma is at first a big of citrusy, orangey hops, but then mellows a bit and you get a big dose of sweet malt as well. Mouthfeel is very buttery. Flavour is extremely well balanced, with lots of sweet, caramel malt and citrusy/piney hops in the mouth. The piney character of the hopping comes out mostly in the nicely bitter finish. Has a somewhat tea-like character. Much bigger malt presence in this one than most other dIPA’s. Really nice.
