3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: FEB 19, 2014 Very citrusy aroma with a bready malt backbone. Light copper pour. Lemony citrus, orange rind flavor. Strong bitter in the back of the throat. Long finish Not bad but honestly way over-rated. Theres not much body or depth. Really One dimensional. Lacks the thick body and malt depth of a good IIPA. More of a high abv regular IPA. Great tasting beer regardless of specifics.
Light orange pour. Similar to the lagunitas IPA just with everything way more in your face. Not saying it as s bad thing though. Very enjoyable Thunderverb (62) - Visby, SWEDEN - AUG 6, 2017
Pours golden with a firm white head. Aroma of citrus, pine, stable and flowers. Taste of pale malt, grapefruit, peach and juniper berries. Somewhat sweet with a bitter resinous ending. Full body. DraftDodger (1567) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JUL 25, 2017
Copenhagen 25/7 2017. 35,5 cl bottle from Meny. Just says "Maximus" on the label with Hops slowly entangling the corners on the label. Pours clear golden copper yellow with white head. Head settles as 1,5 cm thick layer of foam. Moderate lacing. Aroma is rich and strong. Sweet exotic fruit with a sweet boozy fermented touch. More subdued citric notes. Almost sugary intensity. Soft carbonation and sluggish palate. Flavor is fairly sweet but balanced by distinct bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with semi dry finish. There is no boozy or metallic alcohol here - but none the less you are not in doubt that this beer has a healthy ABV. Nonshaugen (622) - Fetsund, NORWAY - JUL 17, 2017
355 ml bottle. Clear, dark golden amber, medium off-white head, low carbonation. Aroma is malty with tropical hop notes. Mouthfeel is very hoppy and bitter, medium body. Taste is "dark", tropical and hoppy. Nice balance between sweetness and bitterness. Nsanders (1149) - St Paul, Minnesota, USA - JUL 16, 2017
Tap at Stouts. Amber with thin white head. Tangerine, pineapple, apple peels, slight alcohol and malt aromas. Big fruity sweetness with a moderate bitterness. Medium body with a slightly sticky feel.

One of my favorite IPAs- deep rich taste - with hints of yummy - takes normal Lagunitas citrus notes and goes BOOM!

Bottle. Excellent IPA. Big mouth, heavy and robust. Quite impressive beer. Will have ahaib elosop (436) - SWEDEN - JUN 23, 2017
Bärnstensfärgad med fint vitt skum. Doftar fräscht av citrus och lite tallkåda. Smaken fyllig och besk. Eftersmaken lång och humlig (efter 3 snapsar). IncomT73 (6) - - JUN 18, 2017 does not count
Nothing special. Sweet note? I don't know, just but a fan.

Here we have another old Lagunitas favorite. It pours a nice thick dark amber and has a pungent citrus and resin nose. The taste is a bitter, citrusy, piney hop bombast with a long finish and an effervescent mouthfeel that would seem unlikely for this ABV and type of beer. Good for capping off a glorious free Monday night 35mm screening of the movie Air Force One for its 20th anniversary with your cutie butt.
