BOD 345/13. Pours a clear amber with a massive head and lacing that retains well. The nose is a blend of sweet citrus (orange and mango) coupled with notes of grapefruit and pine over a sweet caramel background. Almost full bodied with a rich creamy texture. The carbonation level is normal with a touch of effervescence on the finish. The complex, yet balanced, flavor profile is outstanding. It begins with a tart burst of citrus hop flavor like the nose, flows to a mild sweet citric bitterness which recedes into a caramel sweetness. The finish is smooth with a burst of sweetness and lingering light tart bitterness. A complex brewer’s masterpiece of balance, flavor and bitterness.
Bärnstensfärgad med fint vitt skum. Doftar fräscht av citrus och lite tallkåda. Smaken fyllig och besk. Eftersmaken lång och humlig (efter 3 snapsar). IncomT73 (4) - - JUN 18, 2017 does not count
Nothing special. Sweet note? I don't know, just but a fan.

Here we have another old Lagunitas favorite. It pours a nice thick dark amber and has a pungent citrus and resin nose. The taste is a bitter, citrusy, piney hop bombast with a long finish and an effervescent mouthfeel that would seem unlikely for this ABV and type of beer. Good for capping off a glorious free Monday night 35mm screening of the movie Air Force One for its 20th anniversary with your cutie butt. MaltOne (366) - Wisconsin, USA - JUN 10, 2017
Solid Imperial IPA. Pours light, clear copper with a brief, froth y white head; lots of residual lacing. Aroma caramel malt and tropical fruit. Taste starts lightly sweet from the big malt base, Hops starts tropical fruit, finishes pine resin. Palate features the big malt structure, taking a moment for the resin hops to emerge at the finish - a nice dance of sweet and bitter in the finish. Overall, a substantial and straightforward imperial. Tezminator (225) - AUSTRALIA - MAY 26, 2017
Nice looking beer. Aroma: caramel, pineapple and faint floral notes. Taste: fruity (grapefruit and mango) and caramel. Followed by nice pine resin and tingling notes of pineapple and herbs. Balanced. One of the better beers I have had lately.

A big piney west coast affair, Maximus is anything but subtle. Starts with a resiny pine nose with a bit of citrus and peach. Pours a light amber with a decent frothy pure white head. Flavor is sweet in the front, but bitterness rises quickly ending in a very bitter crescendo and sticky resin fade. All about the hops here.

I wasnt very impressed by this one. It pours a mid amber body, almost no carbonation, head or lace. Aroma of sweet caramel malt. Flavor is similar with a slightly grapefruit tasting finish. I was expecting a few more hops and less malts for a IIPA, Overall it was o.k. but not outstanding. Originally rated on 1/21/09. jmgreenuk (9329) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - MAY 10, 2017
Tap at the Ørsted Ølbar, Copenhagen. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head and some clingy lace. The aroma is malt, tropical fruit, some alcohol. The flavour is moderate sweet light bitter with a smooth rich fruity alcoholic bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Nice and fruity with well hidden alcohol. mvp (261) - Harper Woods, Michigan, USA - APR 29, 2017
Pours golden with off-white head. Citrus aroma. Frothy texture and refreshing taste without an aftertaste. Kauge (1931) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - APR 25, 2017
Bottle. BB 24.10.2017. First pour rather clear bright orange, second pour contains huge chunks of floaties. Head creamy white, rather big, nice lace. Lovely tropical fruit aroma, sweet, stone fruits and pineapple. Tastes sweet and bitter, very fresh and tropical, ripe, kinda like apricot, mango and pineapple, not very citric, more like resiny. Fine but crisp carbonation, oily texture, somewhat dryish finish. Very nice.
