Very hoppy taste balanced with strong taste of malt and alcohol. I love! They know how to brew a good beer I the US after all.

This is one of my favorite IPA’s since it fits perfectly with food (especially spicy food) but just as well on its own. The fresh, fruity taste and its well balanced bitterness makes this incredibly enjoyable and relaxing beer one of my definite choices when buying beers!
Try drinking with homemade burgers or spicy mexican food, such as tacos. maxhits (172) - Pico Rivera, California, USA - AUG 6, 2002
A bitter, sappy green pine underpining and a resinous, deep hop flower aroma. Slightly chalky, dusty and dry; although high in alcohol content, this ale is easy to gulp. lunaticharness (183) - Torrance, California, USA - MAY 5, 2003
wow... definitely what an IPA should taste like! strong hop flavor, great color with a thin small head, sharp but mellow at the same time, easily drinkable beer

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2007 Pours a clear orange color with a steady big head: I love it. The smell is worth drooling over: some fresh flowers, orange, tangerine and other citric fruits. Flavor is mostly in line with the hop aroma, soft flower flavor, but when I say that it doesn’t give this beer justice. Great lacing down the glass. There’s something about this beer that makes "MAXIMUS" appropriate. dwyerpg (6078) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - NOV 15, 2006
Very dark cloudy orange, not real hoppy aroma. Head is very dry and hoppy. The beer is also excellently dry and hoppy, but smooth in the finish to not kill your taste buds. Great. Shag (2987) - Chattanooga, Tennessee, USA - FEB 18, 2007
A dark orange appearance with a beige head. The aroma is full of pine, grapefruit, and oranges. I catch a little perfume in there as well. This wasnt as BIG as some IPAs Ive had which isnt always bad. A well balanced beer with more grapefruit and oranges showing up in the flavor. The finish was quite bitter. Top notch IIPA in my book. cathcacr (647) - Oregon, USA - OCT 24, 2007
This one’s ridiculously good, mayhaps the best I2PA I’ve had. Definitely better than the Ruination IPA I had the other night, which is 4.3-4.4 quality. Lagunitas has this hop thing down just about as well as Stone. maniac4016 (114) - bill clinton, ICELAND - JAN 17, 2008
22 oz. bomber. waxy pineapple on nosing. good clarity in pint glass, nice head, lacing sticks to glass and on palate nice clean hop flavors, excellent balance and long, long, long clean bitter finish. very good ipa, this bottle doesnt stand a chance. actually enjoyed this more than the two-hearted. will look into others styles from this brewery. could be new go to ipa!! outstanding
