This is not the original Pale Ale as brewed in far away 1993 in the back of the Old House of Richards Building in West Marin hamlet of Forest Knolls right next to little Lagunitas. It is way better. Back then the beer tasted like broccoli and kerosene and the carbonation ate right through and drained your stomach into your gut...

Pours a deep gold color and initially creates an attractive fluffy and pillowy white head. Unfortunately it fades to a light wisp of thin foam quickly. Simply delightful hop aromas right out of the gate with lush notes of citrus rinds, pine and flowers. Some light toasted malt aromas also sneak in. Mouthfeel was smooth and slightly slick, however slightly thin with an ample amount of carbonation. Flavors are much like the aroma profile with just a huge hop presence for an American PA. Clean, crisp and tangy hop flavors of grapefruit, orange, pine and spice are right up front; very IPA-like. Some subtle pleasant and balancing toasted malt sweetness can be perceived in the background. Overall this is one of the best valued APA’s you can find. Solid!!

Clear, golden, medium head. A lot of resin and hops granulate, almost sulphuric notes in aroma. Dry, thus not much body to balance very resin bitter taste.

Golden colour with small head and hoppy nose. Taste is hoppy and light fruity with some malts on the top. Palate is short but also with hops.

355ml bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden with white head. Really fruity, with at least citrus and mango. Nice bitter finish, one of the freshest and best APAs I have tasted.

Ahh, my second Lagunitas rating in a row. For whatever reason, I pretty much feel like they can do no wrong and this beer is no exception. It pours a golden frothy macro-esque yellow that obscures how good the beer actually is, but it has a nice, smooth floral aroma that invites you to reconsider your first impression. The taste is a very smooth, drinkable piney hops sensation with a nice bright and dry/crisp finish. Definitely a very good APA and one of my favorites. Very sessionable. Good for listening to the new Obituary album at an extremely low volume because your creepy neighbor is a whiny baby and you already slammed the door in their face when they came down to complain earlier in the day and you dont want to be too much of a dick.

Beautiful golden color with a small head with good lacing. Very strong citrus on the nose but with a delicacy that keeps me coming back. There is a very evident wet basement type of presence that I dont find bothersome. The mouthfeel is where this beer falls a bit short. A rather limited mouthfeel and limited taste disappointed me. Overall its OK, but I wish it tasted and performed a bit better because I loved the nose.

Rating #2348 - 2016.02.24 - On tap @revolutionyeg. Golden amber pour with a bubbly, lasting white foam. Aroma is citrusy, tangerine notes, mild grassiness, mild floral, piney scent.Taste is a blast of hop character whose bitterness evolves to define this beer. Decent stuff.

Bottle from Systis. Light malt brown with yellowish head. Caramel, citrus, pine, grassy. Grass, malt. Medium bitter, light, refreshing body that you wouldnt believe for the ABV. Nice balance too.
