Bottled. A hazy dark amber beer with a fast disappearing tan head. The aroma is sweet with powerful notes of caramel, but also lighter notes of malt. The flavor is sweet malty with powerful notes of caramel as well as lighter notes of alcohol, leading to a dry bitter caramel finish. The body is thick - somewhat like drinking caramel soup - if that exists. joergen (28991) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - APR 29, 2007

Cask at Pizzeria Paradiso. Copper color, no head but massive lacing. Aroma of freshly picked hops and white pepper. Flavor is quite balanced, starts sweet and turns bitter. omhper (25570) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - JUN 13, 2006
[Bottled, thanks MrWalker!] Clear reddish amber, minimal head.Striking aroma of grapefruit and caramel. Sweet and full bodied with fairly soft mouthfeel. The malt flavour is more prominent than in most American barley wines, but there are a good amount of aromatic hops as well. A very solid and well made barley wine with some personality of its own. madmitch76 (25383) - , Essex, ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2010
