Ale Punched with Sake Yeast and Rice This Raging Bull’uva Double-ish IPA is punched with Sake Yeast and Rice, then hopped-up for a cold-clip of counter-balanced bitterness... it just don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing!

Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is yeasty, earthy rice / hay, mild hops. Taste is earthy, light hay, rice. A dirty, yeasty and starchy (yet thin) beer. Worth trying but maybe just once...or back-to-back with Hitachino Nest XH.

Tap at the Happy Gnome. Clear golden pour with a clingy white head. This is cool - sake/rice sweetness with hoppy bitterness to balance. Fun beer, and quite good.

Very balanced. Some sweetness, but sake yeast added a unique twist. Clear golden color. Alcohol didn't show.

I was already mighty buzzed when I opened this. Then it jinxed me and my 5 or 6 night CFB games. Lost them all I think and all of my daytime profits. Anyway, it was interesting with a little sake flavor. And it was super cheap. And it was around 9%. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear straw yellow with a foamy white head. Light floral, herbal, hoppy aroma. Smooth with a medium body. Not too sweet. Not harsh an almost no bitterness. Tastes like a light lager with a rice flavor in the finish and aftertaste. Hides the alcohol very well. Fairly refreshing and enjoyable.

The beer poured out of the hilariously over sized bomber, with a body that was pale golden in color and a head that peaked at two finger thick. The carbonation was lively and steady, and the smell was very hoppy and tropical, reminding me of guava and passionfruit. The taste felt quite sweet at first, as the Sake yeast fermented rice was quite evident, then suddenly mid-palette the hops started to dominate with a tangerine flavor. The finish was smooth, hoppy, long, and warm, as the alcohol burned. I loved this a lot more than I anticipated. A perfect marriage between a Sake and a DIPA, and a very unique beer.

Pours a finger of head on a hazy straw body. Aroma is rich lemon, grapefruit and pine resin. Taste is mild pine bitterness with an odd sweetness. Texture is crisp. Interesting with the Sake yeast.

Draft at One Mile House with Linh and Ken. Pours a clear orange amber body with thin white lacing. Nose is sweet sugar. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with notes of sweet sugar, fruity malt, spice and syrup.
