One of the best cream ales around. Smooth and crisp - a perfect summer IPA alternative.
"i was looking forward this, but in the end, there was nothing about the flavor that stood out at all. creamy, with a thick mouthfeel, otherwise a mish-mash of malt and hops, with seemingly no direction. ok." alexsdad06 (10265) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 8, 2014
12 oz bottle from backlog notes 07. Pours a honey golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have some sweet character of a cream ale but includes orange citrus hops, caramel, some pine that works in toward the finish, mild bitterness, decent enough to have again. Bottle, 12 oz. Poured a burnt orange color, with a creamy, thick head, almost a nitro-sort of head. Aroma is of sweet hops and a bit of malt. Flavor is smooth but strong; some definite hoppy character shines through, but it is more than balanced by a big, malty body. Smooth on the palate; grassy spruce hops finish. 07/2007: The appearance is a dark gold/light orange. Hazy with plenty of carbonation. Big fluffy 1.5 finger of head. Looks creamy and good.
The aroma is sweet and fragrant flowery hops, but with also quite a bit extra. A sweet berry smell (cherry) as well as a hint of what seems like orange. Awesome. A little spicy Belgian tinge, but not the harshness that smell entails.
Really delicious sweet hop flavor, with some pale malt added. Itís very sweet (in a great way) and summery, but manifested within the hops. There is a kick of alcohol flavor, as well as a surprisingly spicy aftertaste.
Itís fizzy and bubbly, unusual for something so hoppy. Itís creamy and thick in the feel of the liquid. Itís a hoppy cream ale. Spicy, bubbly and fizzy. Quite a good drink when you can find it fresh. drowland (8629) - Georgia, USA - APR 4, 2010
12oz bottle courtesy StFun into a pint glass. The pour is cloudy yellow/orange with tiny floaties hanging around in there as well. The head is big, 3-finger, white, and quite fluffy and dense. The head sticks around for quite a bit as well. The aroma is fruity and malty and the flavor is the same. This really isnít too bad!
