2009 Bottle - thanks stefanje! - Pours a bright orange with a frothy off white head, generous lacing...intoxicating aroma of pine resin, grapefruit, hop florals, sticky toffee?...flavour is a great balance of citrus and sweets, not as bitter as I expected, but incredibly well put together...finish is like citrus rind with a fleeting bitterness...good stuff

22oz Bottle. A heavily limey aroma rises from the glass with fresh zest, a bit of gin, and some rosemary. Herbal and piney. Pours a clear pale copper, mostly gold with a white rim. Flavor is softer, but continues in an herbal and increasingly more floral fruit, towards raspberries and pears. A slightly toothy malt plays off the hops well. I want a little more intensity, but this is very good. Soft, supple and with some minerals. Lots of fruit character. Alcohol non-existent. This is very enjoyable.

22 oz bomber from New Seasons - The aroma on this one is fantastic! It smells like something I definitely want to drink. Tastes like it, too. It has some nice citrus flavors and good malt balance. Its a bit like fresh grapefruit juice.

22oz. bomber, with thanks to stefanje for the surprise box! Pours a clear golden with a nice white head. Aroma jumps out of the glass, with grapefruit, pine, citrus, and light floral. Flavor has more grapefruit, light pine and citrus, along with a good caramel malt backing that keeps the hops in check. Very drinkable, good stuff. Thanks again Stefan!

[Bomber] Pours clear, dark amber with a good sized off-white head. Aroma is huge, and very, very nice. A lot of pine, with some mandarin orange mixed in as well. Taste has a big hop profile (pine and mandarin orange again, but this time with a good dose of grapefruit as well), with the bitterness being offset by a strong malt presence. Really nice balance between the hops and malt. Mouthfeel is full with a long finish of grapefruit and malt. This is a really solid IIPA, and one of the better ones that I have had. Well done, Lagunitas.

UPDATED: APR 4, 2009 22 oz bomber purchased at Spirits RB. Poured a great looking honey hued amber with a pillowy off white head that left tons of lace on my Allagash glass and a large pile of head pooled on one side of my glass as well. The aroma was the perfect marriage of hop bitterness and malty sweetness that I can only describe as hop syrup. Medium bodied with soft carbonation and hop flavors linger with a light bitterness. Flavor of recently crushed hop cones, citrus rind, grains, lots of hop sweetness. Phenomenal beer and at such a beautiful price as well.

On Draft at Deep Ellum, body is a dark golden hue with a tall tight pure white head. Aroma is sticky pine with a little dust. Flavors of grapefruit and orange zest dominate with a touch a chewy pine sap as it warms. The body was oily and bitter and hop burn was not far behind. Really a nice brew.

Draft Pre-C&PsLYFO Throwdown Clear golden ale with a small, creamy, white head. The aroma is of pine sap, toffee, white pepper and resin. Full-bodied with lively carbonation. Pretty well-balanced overall, though it does lean just a hair on the sweet side. Pine bitterness rides sidecar while toffee and caramel sweetness steers the bike. Lengthy, bittersweet finish - finally, the bitterness outlasts the sweetness.

Pours a nice brownish orange with a fluffy white head. Aroma is citrusy hops, pine and malt. Flavor is caramel, pine, fresh citrusy oily resinous hops, grapefruit. Has a nice oily mouthfeel and finishes a bit astringent and bitter with some lingering sweetness and citrus to counteract the bitteress just enough to work well. Best value for a IIPA ever!

Smells nice. I taste grapefruits big time. Very delicious and fresh tasting. Alcohol is well masked under the wall of hop goodness. I hope this stays around permanently.
