Dacrza (1047) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - AUG 29, 2013
DATE TASTED: August 29, 2013 ... GLASSWARE: Duvel snifter... OCCASION: drafting while draughting (reused pun, for draft number 2)--a big-bodied beer for a big boy draft!... APPEARANCE: beautiful soft orange with a steady, centered eruption of bubbles; thick, creamy head is staunch and off-white--yes, perfect... AROMA: the shock and awe of the IBUs is on display, with the majority of the scent of a pine cone slicing through an orange, mango and pineapple simultaneously into a hop bomb shish kebob; as advertised ...PALATE: creamy, stirring thickness with an immediate warmth that seers, then cradles the throat; balanced overall, with a reasonable aftertaste...TASTE: delicious citrus (plum and pineapple pervade) are unrelenting; the alcohol metes its energy out as the glass drains; the aftertaste of funky yeast is a little difficult to take pleasure in... not knowledgeable enough to construe the good news/bad news of the label’s CO2 hop extraction explanation, I defer to my senses and buy into its overt toasty malt/hop balance, mostly--not as much as Adrian Peterson being my #1 pick... OVERALL: this beer is BIG, blessed with a peripheral attractiveness and a substance that follows up reasonably on its initial promise...impossible to remove the hop from the teeth, like the Altoid of the beer world...worth the bomber and its relatively fair price tag...

Tap at Rattle N Hum, New York, 20th November 17. Pours clear, amber. Aroma is malt, bitter citrus. Taste is malt, sweet and then bitter, booze, unusual after taste. Good.

Pours clear orange-amber, not too carbonated nor foamy. Nose is full on hoppy, nicely balanced against that caramel sweet - but grassy hopped and resiny - body. Taste reveals more of that heavier and hoppier character, something that drinks dangerously easy although some alcohol is there and it even warms you a bit. Beer that appeals to me as a session beer - although by all accounts, it should not be that. Loving this.

UPDATED: OCT 30, 2017 Very strong Hops aroma that is pleasantly nice. Pours Crystal Clear Golden with a slight orange tint. Has 1 fat finger of head that dissipates in about a minute with good lacing. Taste is very smooth and drinkable with (wait for it) lots of hops. Piney, mild citrus, slight sweet caramel hints with a nice bitter finish. Did I mention the Hops? Another great beer by Lagunitas.

UPDATED: SEP 20, 2017 Btl pours a bronze color with a big off white head that lingers leaving lots of lace on glass. Aromas of perfume, pine sap, flowers ,citrus fruit, with a hint of dankness.Tastes sweet caramel, honey, tangerines, oranges, grapefruit and lemon. Medium body, perfect carbonation, smooth, silky mouth feel and a mellow bitter somewhat dry and warm finish. An imperial that drinks like a pale. I could crush a few of these. Simply amazing!

Bomber pours a clear golden orange with a two finger eggshell head that takes a while to dissipate and leaves great lacing. Aroma is citrus and malt. Taste is a heavy hop sweet citrus grapefruit with just enough malt to counter the medium bitterness. Works pretty well overall but seems just a hair much of... well... everything.
