Deep gold to mid-copper in color with thin white head, decent lacing, small protein/other chunks in a very small amount that quickly settled. Very C-hop centric but a little fruity on the nose with malt and almost maple syrup nose. Wonderfully citrus forward flavor, malty backbone, hay, lightly toasty. Wonderful palate/mouthfeel. Overall surprisingly drinkable for a 9+% hoppy ale. Very pleasantly surprised by this as Iíve had strike-outs with most Lagunitus brews tasted in MS. Just a wonderful beer, glad I picked it up. iggynelix (132) - Pennsylvania, USA - AUG 4, 2015
On tap at TK as 10.5 pour. Looks like a Yuengling with a thin head. Then so much vanilla and caramel. Nose hints of roasted malts. Slight bitterness hops on the finish but oh so yummy. JanosX (54) - - JUL 25, 2015
Golden copper in color with a wonderfully thick and creamy head. The bitterness is at the forefront but it finishes sweet and smooth. It's not balanced, each component is purposefully opposed to the other but the outcome is delicious! truebluehes (202) - Tipton, Iowa, USA - JUL 20, 2015
Bottle. Nothing that stands out about this beer, but overall it's just really enjoyable. A weirdly hopped bitter with hint of caramel, toffee, and vanilla.

very nice floral aroma with some sweet citrus notes as well. Taste is very floral hops and sweet tropical fruits, with some bitter grapefruit in the finish.

Pours a copper color with a frothy thick head. Strong bitter nose with a big body and powerful alcohol taste. Malt and hop notes shine on the finish.

My new favorite strong ale. Too bad itís only available at certain times of the year. Mark_Eck (1921) - - JUL 16, 2015
Bottle. Pours a clear dark copper color Aroma and taste are caramel, biscuit, and light bitterness. natejgood (508) - Bozeman, Montana, USA - JUL 13, 2015
Pours clear medium golden color in the glass. Head is medium sized and builds from the bottom. Starts out with small bubbles but over time larger bubbles develop. Bubbles rise from the bottom of the glass quickly and consistently. From of roasty malts, honey and caramel. I canít tell if I smell some hints of smoke or not. Flavor is medium sweet on the front of the tongue followed by a bit of bitterness on the back sides the mouth. Smooth consistent flavor that is not overpowering. Maybe slightly sower, but not a major part of the flavor. Reminds me of a strong ale. Given the 9.3% ABV this beer is relatively smooth and light in the mouth and doesnít really have an alcohol flavor to speak of. Overall this is a pretty tasty beer, but donít drink too many at once. Aroma: caramel malts, toffee, alcohol, spices. Appearance: clear, dark gold, medium, frothy, white head. Taste: medium sweet. Palate: caramel malts again, sugar, some grapefruit, overripe fruits, some pine. Overall: very nice American Strong Ale, light in aroma, but a sledge hammer in palate. Pint at Hangar on the Wharf, Juneau, AK.
