COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

The aroma was slightly floral with an alcohol note and malt tones. The beer poured a nice amber color with good head and lacing. The flavor was sweet and crisp with hints of citrus, flowers, and caramel. I also noted an alcohol bit to it. The mouthfeel was well rounded and clean with a nice bitterness and carbonation. Tasty.

Pours deep clear caramel with a strong red component. Medium head ecru head that fades to moderate, fine-bubbled lacing. Nose is very hoppy and bitter, with a deep caramel, toffee note. There’s a sweetness, with a good savory malt character that finishes crisp and bitter. I wouldn’t call it overly bitter, but it’s definitely more bitter than the hoppy notes would make you think it is. All in all it’s an interesting beer but not something I’d particularly care to try again.

On tap: Dark orange. Sweet candy malt aroma, a lightly nutty and toasty malt flavor with a light citric note. Sweet and barley wine-y but not cloying at all.

Poured a dark amber color. Little to no head. A little bitter for me but that doesnt take much. Give it a shot you might just like it.

Poured from a 12 oz bottle into a tumbler on 04.18.14. A: 2 1/2 finger head. See through red. S: Pine, grapefruit, ketchup, malt. T: Sweet malt, grapefruit, ketchup. Caramel is there too. M: Creamy smooth. O: Sweet malt comes on first, then grapefruit, ketchup, and some alcohol burn at the end. The malt turns into caramel which lingers. It was like a barleywine, but with a little less hop presence. The alcohol burn was not as strong as I thought that it would be.

Pours a clear, orangish-red color with a small white head. Sharp pine aroma dominates, but not overrun by hops. Malts stand out here as well, nicely contrasting the fresh hop character. Bitter biting finish. Deceptively light.

Pretty hoppy, but enough maltiness to offset it a bit... pretty good beer :-)

Poured orange with a white head, nice citrus hop aroma. Flavor was very malty balanced by the ever present citrus hops. A solid beer that I can drink too much of too quickly, goes down too easy for a 9%+ beer.
