COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the worlds would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patricks Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

22oz bottle. Pours deep copper color. Fast dissipating, white bubbly head. Aroma of citrus, grapefruit, and pine. Flavor quite bitter, with a nice hop kick. Hints of spice, orange, caramel, and malt. As it warmed the hops and caramel was more evident. Full bodied, sticky texture. Medium to full bodied.

Citrus flavor with herbal aroma. Also somewhat of a BBQ sauce-type aroma. Perhaps it is the sugar. More sweet than anything. Bready and yeasty. A true full-bodied ale.

pours a really nice reddish copper with just a little biddy white head. flavor has tons of piney hops all the way through, almost seems more than the IBU rating says it has. warming alcohol in the finish, but the flavor isnt overbearing. the malts are subdued, sort of bready. theres a sort of light spiciness going on, almost minty in the finish. the beer is kind of delicate if you look past the big hop flavors. sort of seems like its missing something, but the way it comes together was unique and enjoyable to me, so 3.5 it is.

Pours perfectly with a layer of white head. Fragrant aroma of hops, citrus, brown sugar. Flavor is hops, a mix of grapefruit and pine, brown sugar. Smooth with a big finish. Delicious. Reminds me of the Brown Sugga.

Bottle into snifter. Pours a clearish amber colour with a little off white head that disappears. Aroma is jammy fruit with a little spiciness. Taste is jammy fruit with some alcohol. This is a very nice beer.

I love lagunatis! What a crazy name for a beer. Tastes like a double ESB. Dark tan, almost caramel colored. Thick frothy head. Earthy, spicey aroma. Bitter and hoppy, but balanced with a heavy caramel body. Another winner at a great price!

Thanks to rustychiles for grabbing me one of these. Pours a dark chestnut brown with next to no carbonation. A straight pour down the center results in no greater than 1/4 finger of head. Pretty dismal for a beer that I know is damn hoppy. Aroma is of dank citrusy/piney American hops and a teeny bit of crystal malt. Taste is pure dank heavy high alpha acid American hops backed by the residual sweetness of a solid amber ale with plenty of crystal malt thrown in. Quite quite tasty, and Im no hop head. This was pretty reminiscent of Oskar Blues Gordon for me.

Blood-red pour with a thick one-finger head. Huge malty aroma. Very sweet smelling, with notes of brown sugar, plums, raisins, and hearty breads, along with bountiful citrus and resiny hops. Taste is also sweet up front. Dark fruits, caramel, and toffee start the sensation, but theres a wicked hop bite at the finish. Citrusy with a little touch of pine. Mouthfeel is full and robust. Another home run from Lagunitas.

Poured a warm honey color with about a half inch off-white head that quickly disappeared leaving no lace. Great aroma - this is what really sold me on this beer, biggest note in the scent is straight sour cherries - a great sweet subtle bitterness to play off the hops and the bite in the taste. Great crisp mouthfeel and enjoyable from start to finish. Very refreshing, a lot going on in the appeal of this beer.

Lagunitas Undercover Shutdown Pours dark copper with a medium white head. Somewhat sweet resiny hop aroma is the overwhelming characteristic with some citrus as well. Flavor is bittersweet caramel and resin hops. Yummy as hell with a nice bite. Will drink more. Smells good. Big.
