We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the worlds would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patricks Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Tap at Mudville 9, NYC. Awesome, awesome, awesome. Id probably classify this as an IPA. Pours orange-gold with a medium, pure white head. Very sweet, citrus fruity aroma with loads of caramel malts. The primary characteristic of this beer is a sweet, sugary maltiness, but the hops are undeniable. Some pine and resin, but light. Medium to full in body with average carbonation. Alcohol gives the beer some nice depth but is not overbearing. Loved this beer.

Nice amber color, hazy. Very good malt, both the aroma and flavor; strong mouthfeel, just showing some alcohol, extreme but well balanced. Good hopping. Very good.

Tap at Max Burger, Longmeadow MA, 18/05/13. Clear dark amber with a thin off white head. Nose is caramel malt, hops, pine, tropical fruit backnotes, mineral tones. Taste is caramel malt forward, good hop bite, pine, bitter hops, grapefruit, sugars. Full bodied with fine carbonation and a good dose of hop bitterness. Well balanced, good stuff.

Gbbf 2012. wow now that is good. Like a hoppy barley wine. Some overt sweetness true. The aroma is magical. Promises so much. Some burn and heat on finish. But its pretty beery good. Lovely beer. A sipper.

Draught: Archer Ale House, Bellingham, WA. Bright copper colour. The aroma is slightly floral with brown sugar notes and woody hoppiness. Bitter, woody hop character with slightly chewy brown sugar malts. The finish is a bit astringent and alcoholic. Not really sure where theyre going with this. It shows me nothing new and isnt particularly palatable. These flavours and aromas are better served as instruments in an orchestra rather than being the whole band.

Bottle, 22oz. It pours a hazy, golden body with a dense, beige head. Lovely beef-stock aroma, malty, caramelly, sweetish and with a lovely hoppyness. Malty and sweet flavor, pine and resin also playing a major part, nice bitterness, and some beef-stock notes. Full to medium body. So bitter it almost feels stinging in the mouth. Long, piney and resiny finish. Love the hop-profile in this one, and its sort of balanced as well, with all its maltyness. (080314)
