We brewed this especially bitter ale in dedication to all the world’s would-be astronauts, in remembrance of the 2005 St. Patrick’s Day Massacre on the Brewery Party Grounds and also in joyous celebration of our 20-day suspension that following January. Do the crime. Do the time. Get the bragging rights. Cheers!

Bottle, 22oz. It pours a hazy, golden body with a dense, beige head. Lovely beef-stock aroma, malty, caramelly, sweetish and with a lovely hoppyness. Malty and sweet flavor, pine and resin also playing a major part, nice bitterness, and some beef-stock notes. Full to medium body. So bitter it almost feels stinging in the mouth. Long, piney and resiny finish. Love the hop-profile in this one, and it’s sort of balanced as well, with all its maltyness. (080314)

Quirky little ale. Caramel colored. Very bitter. Reminds me of an English E.S.B. Rated 8/3/08

Copper colored pour with a tall khaki head. Nice bright, citrus hop aroma. Grapefruit, pine, and orange. Some sweet caramel, a touch of brown sugar, and light pineapple. The flavor is fruity and sweet. Pineapple, grapefruit, and oranges. Light pine bitterness, sweet caramel, and some brown sugar. Nice.

[email protected],Copenhagen. My 1400th rating. Pours hazy amber with a creamy lasting head & lacings. Aroma & taste have loads of fruity hops - pineapple/grapefruit, & a sweet barley/caramel note. Full & smooth palate. Fresh & crisp. Bitter lasting end. One of the better Lagunitas brews!

MiP (15667) - Sønderborg, DENMARK - OCT 22, 2011
Draught, 9.97%. Cloudy dark red colour. Small white head. The flavour is quite roasted, quite malty, and quite bitter. Malt syrup notes. Rather slimy mouthfeel. Vinous aftertaste. OK beer, but a bit rough around the edges.

Draft - Orange and some grain. Clear orange with little white head. Orange, caramel and and little spice with a touch of bitterness. A little syrupy and odd.

bhensonb (15208) - Woodland, California, USA - MAY 25, 2006
Ambery copper color. Little head, but a tendency towards minor lacing. Smells like sour grapefruit mixed with pine. That’s really a good smell. There’s an underlying malty sweetness, but the hops cover that quickly. Smooth, with medium body. Just delightful on the tongue. The hops persist from palate to esophagus.

Theis (15152) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - JAN 2, 2008
