It pours a nice amber/medium amber color to it. Oh!...My!!!...God! Hoppy as hell! I love it! Piny/Floral hoppy notes to it as well as grapefruity/fruity notes. This beer is hoppy, hoppy, hoppy and even more hoppy! Piny/floral hop taste. Thick/syrupy malty taste. Amazing! The after taste is a bit fruity. Which is great! hopheadsbrew (142) - Illinois, USA - JUN 24, 2012
Fruity and candy nose. Amber color. Sweet on the front with lots of subtle candy flavors. Some hops on the finish. Zgpt (51) - Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA - FEB 7, 2017
Pours dark amber with small medium head. Nice sour citrus aroma. Sharp nutty citrus taste carries through to sour citrus aftertaste. Nice strong alcohol, don't see how this could be any better.

It’s hard to classify this beer. It has elements of a strong ale, a barleywine, and the big hoppiness of an IPA (like all Lagunitas beers). It is a fantastic beer that should be savored. Pours a deep amber and smells of primarily of hops. obxdude10 (2367) - Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA - MAY 26, 2013
WOW! What a fantastic beer! I sampled this (over and over again) on draft at the Lucky Lab in Rofo, PA. This beer is pure, flowery, dry, insane and resiny hops! It’s well-balanced though, too. There’s a nice profile of bready and yeast malts. I also tasted some hints of orange and grapefruit. This beer is about as close to a perfect 5 as you can get. The Undercover Shutdown is insanely good and fantastic. I need more!

One of my favorite beers and wish it was available year round. The flavor is first bitter ( like a good IPA) then smooth and a nice pour with a good head. The taste is so smooth you cannot have just one.

I love this beer! Sweet syrupy caramel aroma, beautiful orange/red color. Sweet, hoppy, floral. Smooth, hides the alcohol content well, I can drink so many, is dangerous :) Jesterdeal (1985) - Marlton, New Jersey, USA - APR 30, 2011
Aroma of hops and more hops. What a nose! Appears red but not dirty with a very small head. Tastes of pine, grapefruit, and alcohol. An exciting beer.
