3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
1- piney, bready sweetness in background, a hint of caramel
2- dark golden to light orange, an off-white rocky head with many fast rising bubbles
3- Huge hop flavor with a high hop bitterness as well, a touch of caramel sweetness as it warms
4- medium body with a medium high carb level, long sticky bitter finish
5- a very enjoyable beer if you are looking for a hop bomb. A beer from Lagunitas never disappoints.
Tap. Dark orange color with tan head. Aroma is piney, raisins, some brown sugar. Taste is sugary, piney, some petrol. High carbonation. Not bad, but doesnt do it completely for me. jmgreenuk (9333) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - MAY 10, 2017

Bottle. Clear brown with an inch of cream head that fades to a cm. Aroma of bread crusts, boiled grapefruit, bottled cherries. Not much body, moderate carbonation. Malty but not all that sweet, bitterness is highish and certainly thunders through. Balance is more pleasing after a time - perhaps that’s the booze, although it’s not very overt for close to 10%. More fruity (cherries, mixed peel) than bready. Pine and some herbal notes at the end. Strange beer that grew on me - a bit old fashioned bottled English strong ale complete with boiled notes but still very American. bigcat03 (319) - Columbus, Nebraska, USA - APR 14, 2017
Bottle poured into a globe glass. Copper color with a sudsy of white head and lots of visible carbonation. Aroma is pine resin, lemon, and malt. Initial taste is citrus, pine, and a strong malt backbone. Aftertaste is a pleasant hop bitterness. Smooth palate with just the right amount of carbonation. As bitter as this was built up to be, I don’t get that. It’s definitely a big beer and not for the light at heart but it’s no double IPA.

Pours bourbon color with white frothy head; sticky tropical hop aromas; bitter oily finish. MattShizzle (613) - Bernville, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 3, 2017
Bottle. Amber color - mostly clear. Mostly clean aroma with some malt. Definitely good. Strong, with a good balance of hops and malt. Hopper8 (161) - Holland, Michigan, USA - APR 3, 2017
UPDATED: MAY 1, 2017 It’s like having an IPA without the fun of the IPA. IPA’s can really showcase the floral nature of the hop and it can be really interesting. All this seems to yield is just the bitterness without showcasing anything interesting. Might try again, but will likely avoid. rosskyle (698) - Denver, Colorado, USA - APR 1, 2017
12oz bottle. Tropical fruit hops aroma. A lot of grapefruit flavour upfront with a nice malt hops finish. Great balance medium body.

This beer has a rich amber pour with a light tan / off white head. Aroma is malty. Body is sweet with an alcoholic bite throughout. Lots of malts, not too roasted, mostly caramel. Pretty nice.
