In 1971, the Waldos met one afteroon at 4:20 in the front courtyard of their school near the statue of Louis Pasteur. They set out in a ’66 Impala armed with a "treasure map" on a journey to find a secret garden near Point Reyes. They met there at the same time every day and continued their quest. They never found the secret garden....But they keep lookin’. The dankest and hoppiest beer ever brewed at Lagunitas was made with help of the Waldos for all treasure hunters.

12 oz. bottle, shared by Scott. Pours clear yellow, with a small, off-white head. The nose is caramel, mellow pine and floral notes, and white bread. Sweet and sugary, with a smooth and assertive bitterness. Medium body, crisp and smooth, with a fairly clean finish. This is a solid, well made, and tasty IPA.

Bottle from Whole Foods Market in Redwood City, CA. Aroma is caramelized marmalade, pine resin. Taste is a big malty marmalade hop bomb you expect from Lagunitas. A little on the sweet side but oh so chewy and marmalade-y.

12oz bottle in a tulip. Pours golden with a white head. Aroma of floral, bitter, and grapefruity hops, pale and sweet malts, hints of EtOH, and some dough. Flavor the same. Thicker texture. This beer would have been really sweet about 10 years ago, but seriously, get with the times - no one wants this style anymore.

12 ounce bottle. Brassy gold color topped by a small bubbly white head. Toasted malt and fruity hops in nose. A bit like mango chutney. First sip is tropical fruit. Mango, guava, apple and persimmon. Then the alcohol takes over. Big and boozy. Warming in the chest stays long. Finish has tropical fruit hops and chewy caramel. Make no mistake, this is a big beer. It could be a barleywine if not for the huge hop bill. Long dry bitter aftertaste.

Gold pour with white head. Aroma is oranges and fruitiness. Flavor is sweet malt start with the same orange zest and some tropical fruit. Medium body with a solid bitter finish. I attribute the dry finish to the abv warmth. Solid all round.

Bottle from Sake no Taniguchi. Pours a bright orange-gold, not much head, lacing. Aroma evokes orange fruits: orange, mango, apricot, tangerine, in a sweet marmalade way. Nice strong flavour of said fruit, definite booze but it melds in like a jammy wine or liqueur. Full body, comes boozy sweet and tongue-coatingly syrupy, has a rising bitter middle and rides out fairly dry with some lingering pine and warmth. Well put together.

badgerben (5380) - Blaine, Minnesota, USA - MAY 8, 2017
Gold color with a thick head. Monster tripical fruit aroma, tons of mango. Dry, yet juicy flavor. Something like guava. A little vegetal. Pretty strong alcohol burn. Full body. Medium bitterness.

Good stuff! Color is a rich gold, minimal head. Plenty of citrus and dank to go around the entire way. Holds its ABV very well. Zest and spice. Sweet apple. So much funk too. Lots going on here and somehow easy to drink.

coolfunnj (374) - Margate City, New Jersey, USA - MAY 7, 2017
aroma of the most astringent qualities of pine and citrusy hops...golden amber color with filmy white head and lacing..big IPA with intense citrus qualities against a smoothly sweet backbone..heavy and big on the palate as well with a tingly sensation..overall a really strong west coast IPA

Mep3222 (1708) - East Greenbush, New York, USA - MAY 6, 2017
Malty sweet aroma with piney resinous hops. Very malty but the hops balance well. Mostly piney hops but some sweet mango tropical flavors. Alcohol masked well. Tasty but not blowing me away.
