COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 1971, the Waldos met one afteroon at 4:20 in the front courtyard of their school near the statue of Louis Pasteur. They set out in a ’66 Impala armed with a "treasure map" on a journey to find a secret garden near Point Reyes. They met there at the same time every day and continued their quest. They never found the secret garden....But they keep lookin’. The dankest and hoppiest beer ever brewed at Lagunitas was made with help of the Waldos for all treasure hunters.

It is all of 12%, though nicely dry. It’s pretty sticky, I’m really glad Lag let the fermentation run. Pretty much what you would expect from their description. Sticky, necessary sweetness for this ABV, hoped to keep up. Good suds

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. The appearance is a clear golden color with a small white head. The aroma is a full on assault of citrus hops. The taste is a nice mellow hop bomb. Outstanding beer.

Draft at Shepherd and Knucklehead. Clear golden-orange pour. Nice Curtis, hops and booze aroma. Finishes kinda dry. Nice stuff. A bit too much alcohol. I would drink this again, but it would crush me at this ABV.

UPDATED: MAY 5, 2017 Groovy beer. Big marmalade and apricot flavours. Hides ABV well, but still a bit boozy. Semi sweet, but drier than would be expected for 10 percent plus. Fun and bright.

Bottle. Pours an unclear orange gold with a soapy white head that fades to a thin collar. Aroma has resinous pine mango along with sweet sugars some malt and alcohol. Taste is very bitter resinous with pine spruce and a little tropical mango, very sweet sugary malt and alcohol showing. Palate is sticky full coating and warming.

Sampled from the tap at Happy Gnome. Pours a clear gold with a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has dank pine and sweet onion backed by caramel and sweet grains. Flavor has a strong resinous pine supported by onion, strong sweet grains and hint of caramel.

UPDATED: MAY 9, 2017 Draft... Pours clear and golden with a mid-sized, frothy, white head. The aroma is both fruity citrus and resiny notes of pine. Full-bodied and chewy with tingly carbonation. The flavor is big, bold and bittersweet (more bitter than sweet). Pine, grapefruit pith and spicy hops are the stars of the show despite a huge, manly malt backbone. Finishes piny, resiny, bitter and boozy.

12oz bottle - this gem pours a clear copper/gold color with a very thin off white head. Really enjoyed the tropical hop aroma, hint of citrus and a whiff of alcohol. Layered flavors of tropical fruit, citrus pith, a hint of floral, cracker like malt and a hint of booze. Very delicious

From notes. Enjoyed on draft at Public House with Jeff on the heels of the Public House event. Thanks man! The pour is a darker golden orange with a thick white head that slowly recedes, leaving a nice soapy lace behind. The aroma is full of bitter hops right up front. There is a lightly sweet maltiness creeping in, but then that is offset quickly by a lovely fruitiness. The citrus and bitter zest on this are lovely. The flavor is much of the same. Big hops and fruity bitterness up front with a light maltiness in the middle before the grapefruit and orange come flying back in on the finish. The mouth feel is a little light with a great bright carbonation and a lingeringly bitter citrus zest on the back end. This is a pretty damn good beer, especially for a triple IPA.
