In 1971, the Waldos met one afteroon at 4:20 in the front courtyard of their school near the statue of Louis Pasteur. They set out in a ’66 Impala armed with a "treasure map" on a journey to find a secret garden near Point Reyes. They met there at the same time every day and continued their quest. They never found the secret garden....But they keep lookin’. The dankest and hoppiest beer ever brewed at Lagunitas was made with help of the Waldos for all treasure hunters.

One of my favorite Imperials. Aroma: A little caramel, floral, and raisin. Appearance: A beautiful clear, amber/red, with a minimal white head. Taste: Slight sweetness followed up with a mild hoppy bitterness. Definitely a little boozy. Palate: Full bodied, creamy smooth. The finish is pleasant and leaves you wanting another sip.

Absolutely, hands-down and without any doubt...#1 'favorite' beer!!!!! Perfect balance of everything (done well)...the pour, the body, the head and the ensuing revenants i.e. (the recipe), just put you in a completely satisfying enjoyable brew drink! I'm DONE!!!

This is comparable to Surly Abrasive. Incredible double IPA with a warm, round tang. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Clear medium amber pour over gold (copper with a bit of garnet). World class head volume, lacing and uber world class retention. The nose is world class. It is a blend of citrus and tropical fruit over a sweetly balanced base with a touch of "spice" from the alcohol. Orange and pineapple/mango are the most prominent. There is a dank undercurrent along with spruce. Medium bodied with a texture that is oily and slick from an abundance of hops. Even long after the finish, hop oil still coats the tongue. The carbonation / body balance is quite outstanding. The effervescence is expertly subdued to retain the texture. The middle is slightly prickly while the finish tickles the tongue. In sum, world class mouthfeel. The flavor profile is quite outstanding and nudges the world class line but can’t quite break it. Near the end, alcohol becomes uncovered and lingers in the finish. Other than that, this high octane ale has all cylinders firing to the max. Everything in the nose is present in ample intensity and complexity - AND perfectly balanced. The malt base is sweeter than the nose suggested - delivering rich pale/honey malt and caramel. Another world class attribute is the hops - not just flavor but a SMOOTH aggressive bitterness that contrasts the malts.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear golden yellow with a white head. A delicious IPA though a tad strong so be careful with this one! Actually amazed at how drinkable it is given the high ABV.

Bottle. Orange-tinged golden hue, hazy and opaque. Nice head. Robust, spicy nose. This drinks with a pretty good kick in the pants, with an instant assault on the palate with a strong esther-alcohol sting. Not for the mild-mannered drinker, this is a sipper for those of us with palates that have been brutalized before. (OK, that sounds bad ... this is a big, flavorful beer ... be prepared). At a bodega: pours golden with white head. Aroma pine, resin and sugar. Surprisingly mellow for its size. Resinous and a bit bitter. Alcohol well covered. Not bad.

#4800. Pours cloudy golden with low white head. Aroma of fruit, citrus, pine. Taste is marmalade and resin sweet with a sticky and somewhat boozy finish. Medium to full bodied and smooth with soft carbonation.

FROTHINGSLOSH (8069) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 20, 2017
Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark golden color with a medium sized foamy white head that faded quickly and left excellent lacing. The aroma was tangy, sour and off with notes of cat pee and cactus. The flavor was tangy with tequila, cat pee and an off medicinal note. Very long finish. Moderately full bodied. Awful.

BeerdedDave (1853) - Beckley, USA - JUN 13, 2017
slightly hazy, gold color; great dank, citrusy hoppy aroma with herbal notes; dank, resiny, hop flavor - lots of hops; great fruity, citrus notes and a bit of sweet malt; great bitter hoppy finish; nothing subtle about this beer - tons of hops and bitterness - thoroughly enjoyable
