COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 1971, the Waldos met one afteroon at 4:20 in the front courtyard of their school near the statue of Louis Pasteur. They set out in a ’66 Impala armed with a "treasure map" on a journey to find a secret garden near Point Reyes. They met there at the same time every day and continued their quest. They never found the secret garden....But they keep lookin’. The dankest and hoppiest beer ever brewed at Lagunitas was made with help of the Waldos for all treasure hunters.

On 4/20 at Harry’s Hofbrau for $4.20 per pint. Massive, massive, massive citrus, dank funk and earth aroma. Beautiful. Pours a slightly haze orange with a full white head. Flavor is pronounced citrus and earth, with lots of fresh cut grass. Strong bitterness, but not overpoweringly so like with many DIPAs. Excellent, dude.

What’s this? I found myself a Waldo? I thought this beer was going to be dressed up in a Freddie Krueger striped sweater or something. Pours a semi-hazy golden amber colored brew with a thick off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind excellent lacing. Aroma of tropical fruit with grapefruit, tangerine, golden grain malt and some creme tartar. Taste is medium to medium full bodied, with flavors of mango, grapefruit, more tropical fruit, golden grain malt and some syrup. Finish is thick, syrupy rich in tropical fruit hops, some alcohol warmth and a solid Imperial IPA profile. Tongue shock recovery time is about three minutes. Almost an American style barleywine. Drink as fresh as possible to get the hop forward goodness.

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2016 Aroma - Peach, mango, guava, tangerine, pineapple, grapefruit, sweet onion. Appearance - Bright orange with a slight haze. Small ring of bubbles encircle the glass. Taste - citrus fruit pith, dank skunky hops, resin, tropical fruit, booze. Palate - Syrupy, oily, sticky. Sweetness gives way to booze and bitterness. Coats the mouth nicely. Overall - Amazing IIPA. Highly drinkable especially for an 11.5% behemoth. Will be looking for this limited release next 4/20.

P- Full body, sharp texture, average carbonation, bitter finish. O- Even after a couple months of sitting around and not being fresh, this was highly bitter. 12 oz. bottle. Pours a clear gold/dark gold color with a thin, brief white head. Aroma is sweet malt along with a ton of pine and citrus hops - liquid salad. Medium-heavy body, the taste is heavy on citrus with a touch of sweet malt in the background. Finish is surprisingly not as dry as I would think but a little bitter. Good beer, not one I could drink more than one of at a time.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours an almost clear golden with a white head. Intense, biting herbal aroma hops, cat peeish. Very rich and sweet body, very fruity but also rather syrupy. Hops are again very herbal but not bitter to any extreme degree. Piney as well. Interesting but in the long run too sweet for me. 060716

12 oz. bottle, purchased locally and I already can’t remember where. Pours a barely cloudy gold with a finger of white head that settles into an uneven ring, leaving a few ropes of lace inside the glass. From the first whiff and sip, this one doesn’t pull any punches. It’s boozy and resiny, with notes of herbs and oils, citrus peel, honey-like sweet malts, and pine and florals. Nothing really pops out, though, as the malts and body are big enough to match the booze and hops here, pushing it near 120 Minute IPA-style territory. I like it overall, but I’m not sure this is one I’d enthusiastically revisit. Gotta be in the right mood for this one.
