Citrus, with an almost lemon scent on the nose. Light copper or dark golden in color with an off-white head. Excellent head retention for the style. Lovely, bitter hop flavor that showcases several hop varieties. It has pleasant body and carbonation level. Overall, this is an excellent IPA. boozedude (2228) - Des Moines, Iowa, USA - SEP 16, 2014

DATE REVIEWED: August 8, 2014... GLASSWARE: Maudite snifter... OCCASION: Camp summer #4 ends; no job for Shan though... APPEARANCE: orange amber body; diminishing, bubbly white head that leas beautifully arching lacing; strong cirrus swaths... AROMA: robust peach and pine cone--orange, melon, pineapple--grainy, demanding malts make this an intense, cagey meeting... PALATE: full-bodied, warming and thick--aggressive on the teeth and tongue; dry enough to slow sips; versatile ... TASTE: evenly balanced; with an intense hop bomb accompanying every sip; the intense pine comb produces ripples of orange, tangerine and mango and repercussions of the most palatably bitter ale ... OVERALL: in a three-way battle with Prism and Heavy Seas for roommate get-together IPA supremacy, Lagunitas asserts a dominant character--an irrepressible combination of drinkability and enjoyability...no doubt one of the best IPAs I have ever had...

Appearance: clear darker golden color, pours with a medium off white head Aroma: faints hops but hard to pick up anything, Taste: grass, pine, citrus, minimal very lightly toasted malt is in the back ground, a malt spicyness becomes more prominent as the beer warms Palate: lively carbonation, bitter aftertaste, medium mouthfeel Overall: very delicious ipa, lots of flavors from the hops besides just bitterness, can’t wait to get this in bottles here, tried from tap ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone eruizgarcia (344) - - AUG 20, 2014
Lots of citrus hops and very pleasant malt counter balance. Bitter throughout but refreshing and well balanced.

Fat på Word of Beer i Västerås. Humlig, fräsch, citrus. Tråkig lagerfärg men det kan man leva med. Bra standardipa åt det mer humletunga hållet. symmetry (7) - Cambridgeshire, ENGLAND - AUG 6, 2014 does not count
From tap, Maypole, Cambridge. Powerful hop aroma- a little too much fror my liking. Golden, heavily carbonated, slim white head. Taste is much smoother than an inital sniff would have led me to belive, very hopy, hard to taste any yeast or malt character. Zaakistan (19) - Calgary, Alberta, CANADA - AUG 1, 2014
Light amber in colour with dissipating head. Disappointing with no aroma. But what it's missing in aroma it makes up for in taste!! Wow! Impossible to single out flavours - 43 different hops, 65 various malts.

One of the best IPA’s I’ve ever had - Lagunitas IPA serves as one of the standard bearers for West Coast IPA’s. Great hop aroma starts you off, with a nice hoppy/malt balance and mouthfeel all the way through, with a nice hoppy finish. A definite add to your IPA repertoire micronaut129 (241) - chalfontborotowntonbergville, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 15, 2014
This beer pours with an orangey amber color. Clear.
The foam head is better than average that fades to a wisp, good lacing all the way down the glass.
There is a big hop aroma present, spicy with floral and citrus undertones. I don’t detect too much in way of maltiness here.
Bitter hops up front with good floral hop finish.
Some maltiness can be tasted but you have to look for it.
This is a nice full body beer that is smooth and clean.
Plenty of flavor and a low alcohol persence make drinking a couple of these babies real nice.
Drink well my friends
