Pours a deep amber/brown with a full. lasting head. Hop aroma upfront with the first taste being a full, sweet and balanced hop that is not too bitter. A full-bodied beer that goes down easy with a great aftertaste. Simply one of the best beers Ive ever had - any style.

All around this beer was very surprising and well done. Loved the consistency of this beer. Some chocolate caramel and fruit up front and then the chocolate and almost a roast taste linger. Love the after taste. Went down way too easy. Shared this with a buddy of mine and we were both very impressed.

UPDATED: JUL 14, 2013 Pours a clear dark Brown with a off white pillowy head. Aroma is Sweet roasted malts with some citrucy hops mild chocolate and nut notes + Carmel and some floral piney notes. Taste follows the nose well with some black licorice notes. Has a very smooth medium mouth feel. Tan whip cream Lacing all the way down the glass. If your into a malty beer with some west coast hop character you will love this. F*ck! This is a awesome beer!!! Doesnt get any better Than this! Wow!! I would call this a desert beer.

Malty and delicious. Sweet but not overly. not too boozy for the alcohol it contains. Overall a favorite.

Ruby red to amber pour and an off-white head. Aroma is cane sugar, malt, snus (Swedish snuff) and hops. Taste has a distinct malt character with a lot of hops, for balance. Its quite complex, yet drinkable with dark sirup, wood, and hoppy flavours. Not too sweet, and a bit dry. Perfectly balanced and very delicious! Lagunitas WTF (what the fuck) is an almost perfect beer. Very impressed by laginitas so far.

A spectacular fusion of red and black ales. This beer has the depth of flavor found in black ales with the crisp florality of a red. This bomber will blow you away; don't drive immediately after consuming. ---This rating is likely a compilation of my and my roommates' musings over our latest beer pick up. This is fantastic. This is definitely a big ol imperial brown ale. Its an absolute malt and coffee bomb and its 100% delicious. Its has a huge brown sugar aroma which is amazing, and a nice roasty maltiness that just dominates. Its super sweet, super tasty and just an overall malt bomb, but in a good way. Its how I would want malt to be presented in a beer. I love how lagunitas pumps out these beers that are so delicious, but so reasonably priced. It blows my mind. Just another testament to how awesome they are. Cheers! Pick up this malt monster now.

22oz bottle. clear deep rusty red under a medium sized, frothy, off-white head. aroma of pine, caramel, lemon, orange. a nice burnt caramel flavor to this one. a hint of roast. toasted malts. plenty of hops in here lend to a piney, citrus flavor.
