(6/29/08) Can sample at RBESG08 grand tasting in Plzen. Clear golden. Grainy aroma. Sweet cerealy flavor. Light-bodied. punainen6 (93) - FINLAND - AUG 5, 2008
Can. Clear yellow color with a nice thick head. Aroma has malts, grass and butter.
Opens up nicely but the aftertaste is nasty, grass and metallic. Marko (5597) - Split / Zagreb, CROATIA - JUL 16, 2008

By now almost everyone had left to watch the game... Gold body, light malty, grainy nose. Malty taste, some hop bitterness. Ok beer but too light for its own good.
Pale, golden yellow color. White head is thick and lacy. Aroma is dry, malty, a bit buttery and mildly hoppy. Flavor is sweety malty, grassy and metallic hoppy. Light to medium-bodied and low carbonated palate. wunderbier (1434) - Tampere, FINLAND - JUN 11, 2008
UPDATED: JUL 21, 2008 Mildly golden with a tight hat of white froth. Grassy with a twist of lemon over a cookie dough base, all quite fluid and breezy. Sweet pale malts blossom into a scrubbing, herbal bitterness; clinging, cooling aftertaste of grass and menthol. Light, fluffy and slick.

Well composed with an interesting menthol kick.
50 cl can, best before 09 March 2009.
A spongy white head deflates on a bright gold body. Muted cereal grains carry a rounded, earthy note and a touch of pepper. Slick, sweet malts open for a tight bitterness, fading into a clingy finish. Carbonation is gentle but adequate; sticky texture on a fullish body.
Grainy, compressed and a bit bulky; pleasantly bitter lingering aftertaste.
50 cl can, best before 08 January 2009.
Canned. Clear, pale yellow beer with small white head. Hoppy aroma has citrus fruits , some sweeter fruits and fresh grass. Hops are maybe not the most aromatic but at least there is some. Maly flavor is medium sweet with balancing but a bit metallic bitteration in the finish. Light to medium body and quite oily and smooth texture. I like this beer. Definately one of the best beers that you can find in basic Finnish markets. bermod (119) - Jyväskylä, FINLAND - JUN 4, 2008
Aroma is malts, grass and some butter. Malty flavor with butter and pleasant grassy hops. Nice bitter finish. austone (1062) - Turku; Pori, FINLAND - MAY 24, 2008
Fresh 50cl bottle. Sparkling pale golden w/ white head. Nose is grassy hops, malts and little flowery soapiness. Nicely hopped flavor, grass and hay, fairly malty and dry. Light but smooth palate. Well hopped and dry pils, I like it. tlind2 (1708) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAY 14, 2008
UPDATED: AUG 27, 2009 0,5 l can. Clear golden color, big white head. Sweet, lightly floral aroma. Taste is sweet malts and hops, with more bitterness than I’d expected. The bitter aftertaste lingers pleasantly. Beats the hell out of Finnish mass-market beers, at least.
Rerate: pushing up the rating, because Kukko Pils is one of the few good pilseners available in Finland at a reasonable price. And it doesn’t suffer from the same grassiness as Laitila’s Kukko Lager. Lalli (243) - Helsinki, FINLAND - APR 12, 2008
0,5l can. Pale golden color with hints of green. Foamy white head. Malty nose, quite modest. Malts and gentle hops makes up for the taste, slightly bitter pils-type finish.
