Pours an opaque brown with a medium tan head...lt sediment throughout. Aroma has roasty malt and a bit of spicy hops...some peaty notes. Flavor actually has some scotchy qualities...roasty with good bitterness and a woody note. Bottle poured a dark amber color with a thin coating of off white head. Aroma has caramel, dark fruit, malt, and sweetness. Mouth feel is medium and the carbonation on the low side. Flavor has dark fruit, malt, dark sugar, medium bitterness, nuts, and a bit of a bite on the finish. Tasted on 4/4/12 from a 12oz bottle obtained in a recent BIF. Pours dark auburn with an average tan head that slowly recedes to average lace. The nose is bread malt with some green hops underlying, and maybe just a touch of raisin. The flavor is nicely malty with bread and some cereal up front, moving to the lightly bitter, but very green hops and the same lightly sweet touch of raisin. The body is nearly full with average carbonation and a medium finish that has some of the green hops and just a hint of raisin still.

Bottle split with Tim the Mullet. Pours a somewhat hazy brown color, medum head that dissipated quickly. Aromas of bread, cinnamon, caramel, fruit, and ginger. On tap at the Sugar Maple. Pours a clear amber brown with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a bit of light fruit but is mainly full of sweet grains , toffee and a hint of caramel. Bottle courtesy of GhostFace. Thanks! Pours a clear dark brown color with a medium sized creamy tan head. Decent head retention. Earthy, peaty aroma with some toffee and mild hops. The taste is very earthy with tart berries as if it may be off. Some treacle and toffee notes as well. Medium bodied, high carbonation and pretty disappointing.
