Not a bad Scotch Ale. It seemed to lean toward a medium bodied average beer for this category. Lively carbonation. The high octane 9% a.b.v. has that going in it’s favor ;>} Paid almost $12.00 for a six pack. Would like to see Lake Louie Brewing provide brew date information on the bottle or label, but perhaps since it’s a seasonal brew it may not matter? Bottle courtesy of nuplastikk, thank you! Dark purple maroon color, thin beige head, delicate lacing. Aroma of intense caramel. Taste is smooth and sweet caramel with a bit of bitter chocolate and light spice. Not bad. Dermis (20) - Monona, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 28, 2011
Enjoy it on tap at Hawk’s Bar & Grill on State St. Madison! Great seasonal brew for the cold winter months. Friend that works here has turned me onto it and it has turned into my favorite winter brew this winter. Which is off the beaten path of my Stouts and Mead. twindadplus2 (709) - Wisconsin, USA - NOV 10, 2011
12 oz. bottle. Clear coppery brown with a thin light brown head. Aroma is sweet nutty malt with a hint of hops. Flavor is creamy, nutty malt with a bitter hops kick and a smoky sweet backbone. Smoky, lightly bitter finish with a tingly, creamy mouthfeel. Good to see my thistle glass get an occasional workout, especially for a good scotch ale like this one. daknole (11044) - Scottsdale, Arizona, USA - OCT 28, 2011
DDFRAZEE hooks up yet another unrated brew. Bravo my man! Dark brown pour, light head. Lots of malt, almost a meaty note to to aroma. Flavor is malty, a bit salty, toffee...quite unique and damn straight a good damn brew!

12 oz. bottle shared by Matt at The Royale- thanks, Matt! Pours a semi-cloudy amber color with a small khaki ring for a head. Aroma of nuts, paper, peat, dust, caramel malts, and leafy hops. Flavor of leafy hops, nuts, bark, caramel and chocolate malts, cardboard, and graham crackers. Light-bodied, with mellow carbonation and a musty mouthfeel. 9% ABV is nowhere to be found, assuming that’s even the right number. sherm1016 (1274) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - OCT 5, 2011
12oz bottle. Pours a deep brown color with a thin, off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, bread, a little smokey. A little light on the palate with soft carbonation. Flavor is sweet, malty, nutty, maybe a little alcohol, with a dry, boozy finish. dionysus (1486) - Portland, Oregon, USA - SEP 11, 2011
AKA Liquid Reefer. Thirsty Troll Brew Fest. Pour is copper with a khaki head. Aroma shows toffee, red fruit, light earth, and plenty of fresh hops. Flavor shows the same with plenty of berries and caramel. Overall body is moderate, and finishes with moderate bitterness. All in all pretty good,
but unlike any scotch ale that i’ve ever had. crossovert (12670) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 5, 2011
On tap. It is a relatively weak scotch ale as far as body is concerned, it has an okay flavor. jcwattsrugger (12418) - Florida and, New Jersey, USA - JUN 25, 2011
