Bottle - Fresh from the new batch. Kind of surprised on the so-so ratings for this one. Apparently they call this "liquid reefer" at the brewery, and I can see why. If nothing else, the beer looks tremendous, with a big fluffy light tan head sitting atop a deep, murky mahogany body. Bready, booze-soaked malts comingle with plum, peat, and a hint of black licorice. Despite the heat, the 9% is hidden very well. There are never any sharp edges to the booziness, and the intense maltiness balances it out. Not a lot of complexity in the flavor, but it’s smooth. Tons of sweet, bready malt with a whiskey heat and the slightest grassy hop presence on the finish. Pretty substantial and slick in the mouth, and carbonated nicely. Overall a fine beer, though not one whose complexity will wow you. drewbeerme (3920) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - JUN 23, 2010

On tap at the Local Tavern in Madison, WI. Poured a cloudy, dark brown, with a little head of light tan foam that quickly diminished to a small ring and film, and left some slight lacing. The aroma was earthy, light roast, caramel, and a little dark fruit sweetness. The flavor added some medium hop bitterness, medium+ body, the beer was nicely carbonated, and the alcohol was well hidden. Now if only the appearance was a little better. fonefan (49399) - VestJylland, DENMARK - APR 26, 2010

Hazy dark amber color. The aroma is quite nice, woody and caramel, but also light sourness. The infection is more evident in the flavor: sour cabbage, caramel, strong bitterness. Undrinkable.
Botle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of SecretSanta himself. Pours a cloudy amber with a small off-white head. Spicy aroma with some tartness. Solid body, a little low in carbonation, sweet caramel and aromatic hops with an underlying tartness. Discreet bitter finish. Quite decent. 100410
