Enjoy it on tap at Hawk’s Bar & Grill on State St. Madison! Great seasonal brew for the cold winter months. Friend that works here has turned me onto it and it has turned into my favorite winter brew this winter. Which is off the beaten path of my Stouts and Mead.
Raisins and plums are definitely what you notice first in the aroma, with hints of butterscotch, too. A bit of a sweet fruitcake taste with a medium body. One was pleasant enough from the tap, but I didn’t want a second. mbgrayson (778) - Anaconda, Montana, USA - APR 14, 2015
Draft at UNOs in Madison. Pours a clear reddish Amber, with almost no head. Taste is a bit sweet and malty. Not a bad Scottish ale, thumbs up. AWISLguy (3162) - Wisconsin, USA - MAR 21, 2015
Notes from Scotch Ale tasting for St Patricks Day. Reddish brown pour with a faint head. Aroma of phenols, toffee and later butterscotch. Taste is light toffee, some butterscotch with dark fruits, and eventually other fruits. Not the greatest style, and this is also not a strong representative. On draft at Nessun Dorma, October 2013. Listed as 10% abv. Sweet, darkly malty aroma, fruity with notes of plum, raisin and molasses, some mild roast as well. Dark red-brown in color with a lasting, very fine, light tan head and matching lace. Flavor profile is entirely malty, sweet, dark and fruity, with suggestions of coffee, dark brown sugar, dried fruits, faint cocoa and dark bread. Finish is rather sweet as well. Smooth, hefty in feel, carbonation is low, body is very full. Good. Not outstanding, but good. arnold931 (1263) - Iowa, USA - DEC 14, 2014
Draft. Pours clear dark amber with rings of lacing. Nose is maple syrup. Taste is brown sugar, maple syrup, caramel and dark fruit. Thin body but decent beer.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2014 Bottled 2-11-14. Copper colored. Deep caramel and syrupy aroma and flavor, some earth and peat. Very malty with some earthy hops, definitely sweet with hints of dark fruit or raisins. Full bodied and tasty. ryanfolty (2574) - Bourbon County, Minnesota, USA - NOV 12, 2014
November 12, 2014 - tap at Millioke. Dark brown pour with limited head. Aroma was caramel, malt and some alcohol. Taste was consistent with aroma, but heavier on the alcohol and a sugary sweetness with some dark fruit that I didn’t get in the aroma. Dry alcohol finish and medium bodied. slowrunner77 (12133) - Reno, Nevada, USA - SEP 25, 2014
Big sweet and chocolatey. Not a whole lot of complexity, as ther is little to no hop presence or peat malt smokiness, but it still works. Smooth.bodied dessert beer." jandd1983 (4377) - Wentzville, Missouri, USA - JUL 8, 2014
Sampled at the RBSG 2014. It poured a bright copper color with a beige head. The aroma was of caramel, fruity esters with a hint of tartness. The taste was of toast, some hops a little herb and some tartness. djd07 (15067) - Houston, Texas, USA - APR 24, 2014
Bottle as shown. Pours a clear copper amber with small beige head. The aroma is peat, oak, and booze. Thin mouthfeel with sweet roast, light booze, oak and sweet finish. Good.
