(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of Skyview. Pours a hazy and opaque orangey brown with a tall, rough and bubbly beige head. Aroma of roasted malt. Medium body with a heavy carbonation and an underlying acidity that indicates an infection. Lightly burned malt bitterness in the finish. 220808

Dark brown with a large slowly disappearing tan head. Aroma of sweet malt, roasted malt, chocolate and bread. Taste of milk sugar, sweet malt, chocolate. Dry acidic finish that’s sticky sweet and a bit chalky. So-so.

Bottle, shared by papsoe. A reddish dark brown beer with a big diminishing tan head. Slightly sourish nose with caramel and roasted malt. A bit dusty, with some dried fruits in the background. Roasted malt and caramel base flavor, with a little sourish, lemony and dusty touch. Medium to full body and a quite sour finish. Probably a little infection going on, at least my sample didn’t feel fresh. (080822)

12 fl oz bottle. Pours hazy brown with a redish glare and a fizzy tan head. Milky citric and roasted malt aroma. Flavour is citric and yet with a hard roasted malt flavour with a dry and yet acidic base flavour. Solid roasted and slight citric finish.

Very dark brown, almost black color with a tan head that retains pretty well and has decent lacing. Smell is sweet; milk chocolate, roastiness, and a subtle touch of vanilla. Taste is similar to smell, roasty, with some chocolate, some sweet caramel in there as well. Mouthfeel was medium bodied and well carbonated. Very drinkable, I’d enjoy having this one in my fridge quite a bit.

Dark brown, no head. Very low carbonation lends soft body. Subtle but flawless roasty and chocolatey flavors with some lactic tang. It is was it is: a well made session beer.

Pours a pitch black with an almost non-existant head. Aroma is chocolate, lactose, and cardboard. Low carbonation, watery, some milk flavor with the chocolate. Lacks some real bite and character.

12oz bottle via skyview (thanks!). Pours an almost pitch black with a large but quickly dissappearing beige head. Nose is lactose, berry, and caramel malt. Once again this has the sweet and sour thing going on that almost all the Lake Louie beers seem to have. Body is light, carbonation high.

Thanks to skyview for sharing. Very faint chocolate nose that was mostly watery. Brown color. Body tasted almost like a skim milk character with a drop or two of chocolate syrup in it. Not bad, but a little light.
