AleRider78 (1333) - Winchester, Ontario, CANADA - AUG 10, 2017
Pours a foamy beige head and has a clear amber/rusty appearance. Thick lacing. Aromas of roasted malts, nutty and sweet, hints of breads and earthy hops. Some flavours of caramel and toffee malts, resin hops and some very mild spices. Some raisins also in the mix. Mouthfeel is astringent and somewhat puckering. Medium bodied and average carbonation. Not too bad, something seems a bit off, mainly in the finish, maybe too sweet.

[6200-20140228] Bottle. Mild grainy wet burlap aroma. Clear, amber red body with a medium-lasting foamy off-white head. Leafy light peat grain flavour. Medium body. Average. (7/3/6-/3/12) 3.1

750ml bottle from MG. Deep dark red. Big mat body. Very well hopped. Really this is a great beer. But it’s not a Vienna lager, is anything I’d say it’s a well hopped dopplebock and there ain’t nothing wrong with that.

750 mL bottle. Orange-brown with very little head. Smells like sweet, toasted caramel and maybe some nuts. Brazil nuts, perhaps. Who knows. The flavour is too sweet, but not unappealing. Crystallized maple sugar. And malt. No hops. Somehow, not bad.

dandeman (1001) - Gatineau, Quebec, CANADA - APR 2, 2014
Aroma: Burnt caramel, molasses, crème brulée. Also notes of rye bread and nuts. Nice roasted malt aroma profile sticking out with strength. Appearance: Red / amber, very clear. Average thickness head, holding well, not sticking much to glass and leaving no traces. Taste: Roasted malts with nut accents are showing up straight off the bat. a variety of notes can be detected; from rye bread to creme brulée, and from grain to nuts. Herbal hops are showing up, but with discretion. We can also feel alcohol wrapping flavors with warmfull arms and giving an oily texture. Sparkling is active and hops are missing a bit in order to give a good balance to the liquid. Une lager très sucrée aux accents de caramel et noisettes. Elle me plait bien.

Canmoore (483) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 22, 2014
Pours a rich amber with a thin white head, the aroma notes include mild citrus, roasted malts, toffee, and fruity esters. Tasting notes include rich toffee, caramel mats, toasty malts, and a slight bittersweet finish. Body is medium, and the palate is a little thin. Not a bad Vienna, one of the better LoB products.

rederic (3337) - montréal, Quebec, CANADA - MAR 14, 2014
750ml bottle, dark amber-copper color, with a beige head, nice biscuity, caramelized, toasted, bready malty nose, with some nutty, dried dark fruit, toffee accents, with a carmalized bread crumbs, subtle maple syrup, granola bar, floral citrus hop note in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, grainy caramelized, biscuity, toasted, roasted malty, cerealic character, with some toffee, faint black coffee, faint graham’s cracker, sugar pie crust, flavours, within a hint of maple syrup sweetness, and flowery citrus hop, leading towards a caramelized, toasted, biscuity maltiness, lingering a faint roasty bitterness finish.

jercraigs (10591) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - MAR 9, 2014
2014-02-28. Crisp dark amber brown body with a small beige head. 3+ Aroma is mild, pleasant malt character. Flavour is similar, mild malt throughout, caramel touches. Some fruit and molasses undertones. Smooth average bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Decent, enjoyable but while it is a decent take on the style, it’s not something I would reach for often, even at a less inflated sticker price. Bottle from the LCBO, Toronto

Deep amber-brown pour with a thin white head. The nose is really rich and toasty. A nice earthy rich chewy character with some rich toffee and a bit of stewed fruit. Rich but balanced. Lovely really.

[Bottle (750ml) shared with HogTownHarry, GregClow, JoeMcPhee, jercraigs & mabel -- c/o j&m] Pours a deep orange-red with an average size diminishing fizzy off-white head. Aroma has what appears to be a touch of diacetyl but I think it’s just the style, along with caramel malt, sugary dark fruit and light grassy hops. Decent flavour of caramel malt, light grassy hops and fruit. Average bodied. Not great, just good.
