2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Malty aroma with a bit of honey. Clear straw colour. Biscuity flavour with a slight sweetness and a bitter finish. Light bosy. Good for a session beer.
Canned, from LCBO. Almost clear deep golden, rich head. Fruity nose with some grapefruit peels. Mid dry with light-medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Fruity with mild citrus. Mid bitter finish. Pedestrian APA, in a good way. Bierdimpfe (640) - Quebec, CANADA - SEP 8, 2016
Slightly hazy golden color with a good amount of activity. Slightly creamy white 1 finger, lasting around 5 to 10 minutes, with some very good legs.
Aromas of butterscotch and sweet grains. Flavors of roasted malts, lemon, caramel, floral and noble spices. Balanced sweetness and salivating sharpness. Nice bread feel with a hint of grass.
Smooth oily almost full body with prickly carbonation. Light finish that lingers a little, ending with bready feel of burnt caramel, and roasted malty sweetness.
Overall a very good quality craft. Delicious mix of flavors that are super well balanced and quite complex. A little faint but super fresh and sharp. Wixie (589) - BELGIUM - JUL 6, 2016
Ochre liquid, large head. Light aroma of hops. Light body, average carbonation. Taste is bitter, a bit fruity. ChadPoole (478) - Ontario, CANADA - APR 25, 2016
Pours dark yellow with a white head. Aroma of malt and grass. Has some sweet with a bit of bitter but the taste is kind of muted. Not a bad beer but not a great one either. UXO (1896) - CANADA - APR 3, 2016
Appearance: clear pale gold with one fat finger of fluffy white head, excellent retention and moderate lacing. (4/5) Aroma: pale malt, grassy yeasty. (5/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild bitter. (5/10) Palate: medium-light body, moderate carbonation, off-dry short duration mildly bitter finish. (3/5)
As an “American Pale Ale”, this is a fairly dismal failure. As a Blond Ale, it’s… well… less of a failure - but still a bit of a failure. Limited hop character coming through only as a weedy grassiness, so it ends up tasting not much different than a pale lager, especially as it warms. Really quite a pretty beer, but other than that it’s nothing special. The best I can suggest if you have some of these is, drink them quickly and cold. (11/20)

On tap at craft. Certainly not the style. I am getting fuel aroma and taste. Fizzy yellow stuff. Not at all drinkable. The best character is coconut on the finish.harsh boozy aftertaste.

Cleanly made pale ale. Mild bitterness, hop selection isn't great or anything unique.

Its smell like damp basement (in a good way). Not so easy on the eye, but still doable, like many of my exes. Taste like peppery vegetarian side dish. Mouth is progressively getting anxious for something other than crosswind PA. Nice, lingering bite though. BeerAndPonies (171) - Medicine Hat, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 26, 2015
473 ml can from a sampler four-pack from Sobeys, served in a pilsner flute. Pours a nice yellow-amber shade with moderate, slow-rising carbonation, leaving a head of meringue-like white, which then leaves spatters of lace. Nose holds nice and generally fresh citrus and perfumey hops, balanced with sweet toasty cereals; flavor-wise, the hops and malt are in balance, although the overall flavor is muted. Thin, with a fairly clean finish. This is probably my favorite of the four varieties in this taster package from Lake of Bays, but each one needs some finessing to make them great examples of microbrewery art. Also, four is too many to attempt to review in one sitting; I’m definitely off my game tonight with my deScriptions. I promise to improve. Helsdon (383) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 30, 2015
So one of the grabs by my daughters, given to me for a birthday present. Dear Americans who have bought this beer (I see it’s exported down south) please don’t use this beer as a benchmark for Canadian brews, we can, and do, make much, much better. While nothing is wrong with this beer, it just falls short. Mild resin, pine, and bitter hop flavours. (That’s right with a u.) Cereal malts, some sweetness, but not syrupy. Solid favour but not all that interesting. So ya, try it if you like, but try some others too. (And smuggle some good ones up my way too.)
