Baysville now has a lager to call it’s own. Paying homage to the pioneers who carved roads and rails into the rugged landscape of the north, we handcraft this golden lager using select noble hops and premium Canadian malts. A crisp and refreshing end to a hard day’s work.

2013-08-21. Dark yellow body small frothy white head. 3+ Aroma of pea soup has a lightly smokey quality that seems a bit like scorched malt? Flavour is a bit odd, mildly bitter throughout, sort if an odd pea soup like quality to it. Earthy musty malt character. Average plus bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Not particularly good. Can from the LCBO, Toronto.

Can. Pours yellow with an orange tinge. Head is thin and white. Aroma is very light but hints of malts and caramel. Not much there. Flavour is slightly more interesting with hints of lightly roasted malts and some sweetness. Body is medium. Finish is slightly sweet. I can’t find any hops in here.

Strange metallic, floral aroma. Sweet malt on the palate, slight bitterness on the finish. Really strange.

473 ml can from LCBO. Pours a golden colour with small white head. Aroma is grains, florals. Taste is herbs, malt. Missing something. Kind of bland.

473ml can pours a pale amber color with a finger of white head that leaves some spotted lacing on the glass. Aroma is grassy and grainy. Taste is a grainy malt sweetness with a grassy hop bitterness. Only fares slightly ahead of it’s macro lager counterparts. Not really inspiring and not really recommended.

(bottle) yellow amber colour with a small white head; aromas of rice, wheat; clean flavour with light bitter finish

northropfrye (3743) - Steinbach, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 11, 2013
Light yellow body with white head, quickly fading. Aroma of iron and sweet breadiness. Flavour is quite watery. I guess there’s a little sweet malt flavour, but very watery metallic finish. Not great.

piscator34 (2687) - Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA - AUG 7, 2013
Canned sample. Gold in colour with strong carbonation. Aromas are of sulphur, earth, cereal grains and florals. Flavours are of smooth pilsner malt, a bit of kitchen herbs and cotton. A bit slick in the mouth. Kind of a generic North American style pilsner....needs more hops and needs to be cleaner.

473ml can. Not a macro. Clean and organic tasting, but still a fairly boring lager.
